How do I change the direction of the ratchet wheel?

You need to fix the front end of the ratchet head, and then rotate the ratchet disc to change direction.

Is there memory preset?

You have to adjust it to the torque you need each time you change to a different setting which takes pressing the button up or down incrementally to get to the desired setting. There is no memory to quickly switch from one setting to another

How do I reverse the ratchet? There is nothing to grip and the design makes it impossible to toggle right to left

I ordered one and it had the same issue. Then ordered a replacement with same problem. I took a closer look at the second one and discovered that the disk that you turn to change direction is stuck to the part that ratchets. Not sure if it's a type of grease that dried out, or something else that happened during or after manufacturing. I used a bit of WD40 behind the disk and held the other end with a 3/8" wrench and that allowed me to slowly turn the disk back and forth. This worked it enough that it now turns and switches direction, but it's still not as loose as I want it to be. However, I don't see myself using the reverse (counterclockwise) side of this often so it's not too big a deal as the product seems to work well otherwise.
