Art Nouveau

Art Nouveau was an amazingly rich and fertile field of design in all media from architecture to jewellery despite its surprisingly brief life. It is a daunting task to encapsulate the complete range of production within a single book, but Ms. Fahr-Becker has made an admirable and successful attempt. As is expected, the book is massive and heavily illustrated with excellent period photographs and modern color photographs which are supported by an informative and well-written text.

This is a truly gorgeous book. On just about every turn of the page there are breathtaking visual surprises. It's on my coffee table permanently now. I constantly reach for it to repeat the treat.

AMAZING BOOK. The look and feel is so luxurious and also has A TON of information in it. I used it for a report and was a great book for an overview of the different interpretations.

This book presents all of the most important artists of the art nouveau movement, and many others who are less well known. The text is clearly written, informative, and well researched without being dry or academic, and the illustrations are of excellent quality. Painting, architecture, graphic design, and decorative arts are given equal and balanced treatment. The price is amazingly low, given the high production values. I recommend this for anyone interested in art nouveau, including scholars of art history as well as lovers of good art (and good books).

This book had so many different examples of Art Nouveau items and the pictures of each one was detailed. Love this book.

I love this book!!! It is a heavy glossy, big, hard cover book that can serve you as a decoration in your living room. But the most important is that it is a reference book in history of Art Nouveau. A must in your library!

Very beautiful book with tons of pictures. I never knew of such treasures in the world created during this period. I look at the book often.

A beautiful book elegantly produced , but not enough pictures . To be sure there are plenty of photos but not sufficient for each of the categories to illustrate the style .

This book came on time. It was described as very good. There was no mention of its having been a library book with much thumbed and sticky pages. As it was very cheap it seems churlish to complain but it was not the bargain it seemed.

Spectacular ! That's what I think of this book . if you don't bother reading the text , the photographs are superb . This period of art-form brought out the best in imaginative artists will a certain flair . This book is a superb collation of the broad expressions produced by such artists . A masterpiece .

Covers the subject nicely

One of the best books recording the Art Nouveau period. From a personal point of view it truly reflects a level and depth of thinking and competence which is sadly lacking in todays Shock Art and Dottyness.
