This is an expensive seat so admire it in the package while your good mood lasts. The problem start when you fit it. The instructions are clear and it's easy to follow. But the plugs for the screws are substandard and the 'unique' adhesive pads are useless. When you come to fit this it will fail and you will be left with an expensive looking but non-functioning toilet seat. See my video clip

The seat is well made and easy to install however I experienced a fault with mine. As you can see in the picture, 3 months use lead to the seat cracking along one of the joint lines. I thought this would be a simple swap for the broken piece, but Qwikfast Trade & DIY Supplies Limited closed the request for a replacement without any comment.

I installed this on Sunday, four days later, on Wednesday, the first element of the lid stopped doing the slow closing. It started to go faster and faster every day, until it is clearly not going slowly at all.I paid the extra money of the version with slow close for that reason, but now I realise there was no point on getting it. A friend mine has another lid from another manufacturer and he told me his has lasted without issues.Goes without saying that I have been very careful in the use of the lid, so all I can tell is that the mechanism that enforces the slow motion of the lid is faulty.The 2nd element is still going slowly but also faster every day, as the 1st one did, so it looks to me that within another 4 days I will have no slow closing at all in any element of the lid. I will keep this updated...

I followed the instructions to a T.I'm a pretty hands on person and do all my own DIY, but this was not as straight forward as you'd think.Once installed it looks great but for some reason I've ended up with the seat falling off several times when opening the lid, and has come loose several times while sitting on the seat.This could be very dangerous if I was an older unstable person, as the seat coming off pretty much makes you almost fall off the toilet.The tiny plastic clips that hold the pins in the hinge don't seem to be that reliable or substantial enough to handle the job.Although this is a lovely looking seat and feels well made, I think the fastening mechanism in the hinge pins let it down quite badly.Unfortunately for the price I expected more and feel this may not outlive the cheap seat it replaced that had served me pretty well for 15 years.

Very disappointed. Advertised as “Always fits” “Never slips” “Soft Close, preventing slamming”. The toilet seat is constantly slipping and although the lid part of the toilet has the soft close function, the seat part does not, so if any males lift it to go to the toilet or when lifting it for cleaning, it slams back down. Not happy that this has cost me over £50 and does very little of the main functions advertised, especially when the ‘no slipping’ and ‘soft close’ we’re the main reasons for purchasing this item. The only thing I am happy with is how it lifts off to help with cleaning and the quality of the wood. I can not return the item for hygiene reasons but I will still need to buy another toilet seat due to how much this one slips.
