MiLocks WF-02OB Digital Deadbolt Door Lock with Keyless Entry via Remote Control for Exterior Doors, Oil Rubbed Bronze

I like the idea of using a remote to open the front door. No more trying to find the right key with a bag of groceries in each hand or trying to find the keyhole in the dark. Took about fifteen minutes to install it (replacing a deadbolt that was already there) and half of that time was spent trying to open the hard plastic shell it was encased in. The module on the inside of the door is about twice the size of a regular deadbolt unit because it has to hold the 4 AA batteries that power the deadbolt. The battery area is slightly lighter than the bottom section, but it looks great; I have the oil rubbed bronze model that complements the doorknob. The remote works fine and is easy to program; just note if the 'unlock' button locks, like mine did, and you care that it's switched, there is a 1-2 switch below the batteries and you just flip that switch to get it working properly. By the way, it comes with 2 remotes, not 1 like it says in the description, as well as 2 keys, in case the remote doesn't work. Overall, extremely pleased with my purchase.The batteries last a couple of months; it works great with rechargeable batteries. The unit gives you a little beep when it is about to die, I pop out the batteries and recharge them overnight and the next morning pop them back in before I leave. Just remember to always have the key with you because if you don't hear that beep and it dies while you are out, you won't be able to get back in without the key. So I guess you do need that stinking' key, but just as a backup.Update 2/21/24: It's been over 5 years and it's still working, that's pretty good! A few months ago, I was starting to have issues where when I hit the remote, it would make the noise like it was working, but then it would click and the bolt would not have moved and I would have to use the key. It didn't happen all the time, just occasionally. I figured it was on its way out, but I had the thought of using some WD40 on the bolt and that did the trick. That was over a month ago and it has worked fine since then.

I would leave zero stars if I could ! Wiring is wrong and I called customer service twice and no one answered . Returning and looking for something else !

Bought this for an elderly person who lives alone, has mobility issues and is at risk for needing emergency assistance. In the event she calls for help, when the help arrives she just pushes the unlock button on the small keychain remote she carries with her at all times, no need for the door to be broken open. It works as advertised: the remote control locks and unlocks the deadbolt mechanism, which also works using the supplied keys (a critical backup to also carry when going out, just in case the batteries that operate the motor run out of juice). Installation wasn't too difficult, although I felt the instruction sheet could have been a bit more detailed. The remote control's coverage is good, no problem with operation from two rooms away or from curbside in front of the house. One reviewer mentioned the remote control's lock and unlock buttons functioned in reverse of how they were labeled. Initially I also experienced this with the second of the two units that I had installed, and realized it was because the second door was mounted to swing open in a direction that was opposite from the first door, which meant the second door's deadbolt latch needed to extend and retract in a direction that was opposite the first. This situation was remedied easily enough: inside the battery compartment there's a small two-position switch labeled "1" and "2". Changing the setting to the other number reverses the functions of the remote control's lock and unlock buttons. After I discovered and made this adjustment, I was quite pleased with the lock overall.

I love it. I live in the city so I don't really like to keep my door unlocked. Now people can just tell me when they're close and I can unlock the door without getting up, and can lock the door behind them. Really convenient. It burns through batteries, but the convenience makes it worth it.

This is awesome. I did put a set of low cost batteries in and they didn't last a week, but the last I put in were Energizers and they're going on a month now, and still working fine.It was easy to install, easy to set up, and add remotes, and at a relatively low price.

This is my second identical lock from this company. I installed the first one last year and it works fine but when I installed this one a few days ago and it was defective. The key will not turn the deadbolt so I requested a refund

this stopped working after a month. would not unlock all the way with the remote. left about 1/4” inside the hole.so i decided to grease the bolt itself to make it move more easily. i spread some vaseline all over the bolt (door open, bolt in locked position sticking out of door). i opened and closed it about 10 times & then tried the remote. smooth as a whistle!! works great again. customer service was not helpful. this is my own introspective solution & it worked.

Easy install.....over two months of use and my batteries are doing great ...works perfect and is one of the best things I've bought ever plus everyone that comes over thinks it's friggin awesome! Got mine for a great price because of damaged packaging with nothing wrong with lock. Don't know if I would buy another at regular price but absolutely would if another deal presented itself.......:)

Mostly worked fine except deadbolt was too longer than my steel door flame hole that could not more deeply drilling.So it makes to confusing running distance gear forward and backwards that makes unacceptable sound and more used 🔋 battery life is short. I used my old one is 3/8 inch sorter than original. Now smoothly running all. NO Complain.

We installed this for my grandma so that she no longer has to walk down the stairs to open the door. The button remote is handy and easy for her to use. She also doesn't have to know how to use a smart phone. The lock out of the box didn't work and had to contact Milocks for a replacement, they were easy to contact sent out an entire new lock no charge. New lock is working great. Great customer service.

Very easy to install, just remove existing dead bolt and follow simple step by step instructions to install remote controlled dead bolt. Installed batteries and it worked perfectly, needed no adjustments. Would like to see marks on the unit to tell you if it is locked or unlocked. The lock button should be colored different than the unlock button. I did this to make it easer to use for my senior father as his eyesight is not as good as it use to be.

Worst lock I have ever had. Goes through the batterys extremely fast. Like every other week I have to change one them. I bought two of these locks and both drain the batteries every 2 weeks or so. I even went out and got the best batteries I could find. doesn't matter, still dies every two weeks.wish I could return for a refund.
