Great phone
I bought this phone 9 months ago when it was on sale. It's a very good rugged phone a little bit heavier than most but very resilient. It can withstand being dropped which I've done a number of times. I found there was a good phone with lots of options for the money I paid I buy it again.

Awesome phone - and it works on TMobile!!
I have been shopping around for a durable cell phone, that could was waterproof durable, yet had all of the features I wanted. The Umidigi Bison won checked all the boxes.I was a bit concerned since some of the reviews had said it was not able to be activated in the United States. However the website said that it was completely unlocked and they would help you with activation problems. When I first opened the box I was impressed with its high-tech appearance and it was still lightweight enough to not be cumbersome. The real test would be when I tried to activate it on my current carrier at the time which was Boost mobile. Unfortunately, it was incompatible with that carrier. However, when I contacted T-Mobile they said "Sure, no problem!" and even gave me a better deal than I had with Boost after 15 years of service. The most important feature to me was just how waterproof it really was; since I have had to purchase 3 new Samsung phones in the past year after very minimal moisture contact.I decided not to take my chances and wait and see what happens with an unplanned incident. So I filled up my bathtub, turned on my new Bison and nervously dropped it into the bubbly water. I left it there at least a minute, since it only took about 59 seconds less than that to turn the Samsungs into watery bricks.I pulled it out of the tub, dried it off and went right back to my Candy Crush game. Didn't faze it in the least! The best part about this phone is that it comes equipped with some pretty cool tools, like a protractor, picture hanger, height and distance measurer, thermometer and barometer, and has ample internal storage (128G) as well as an additional Micro SD slot for up to another 256G!Now, all of my "Apple head" friends who have been so snooty with their expensive fruit phones are actually jealous of my new phone and the fact that it does SO much more at so little price!I highly recommend this phone to anyone seeking durability as well as style and functions. And especially those US.customers who may be skittish because of carrier acceptance, I know for a fact it works perfectly on the TMobile system.Great product!Great price!Cheri F.

Not that you should
My husband ran over this phone with a Ford 350 and besides a broken screen, it still works! Crazy durable. If you're looking for something that can take abuse, this is it.

Great Budget Phone w/ Budget Specs!
I first got this phone because I needed a budget heavy duty, rugged phone, that could take a beating. And this phone is definitely one of those! I work a job where I’m constantly around heavy machinery and have to be very mobile and agile. I work around Forklifts, pallet jacks, and trucks and a shipping environment where I’m constantly on the go and can’t afford to have a delicate phone like the Samsung Galaxy phones or iPhones. For the price you’re paying for this phone, you’re getting a pretty good deal. The phone runs stock Android 11 with no 3rd party launcher. There is some bloatware, but not nearly as much as I have seen in the past 4 years on other phones. Here are my thoughts on each topic:Body and Build Quality:I love this build quality! The edges have a extended rounded corner to protect from direct bumps and drops on the edges. This rubber is not self healing however so don’t try dropping the phone on purpose. Phones are only built to reach a certain amount of durability. Majority of the shell is covered with the robber casing. However on the sides you’ll see the aluminum material shell and it’s quite heavy duty. You will instantly feel the weight of this material on the phone and it’s a heavy phone. It is considered waterproof with a rating of IP68. Not too shabby.Battery/Charging:This phone has great battery life and it should considering that it has a 6150mAh battery. A full charge lasts me practically all day on a full charge. To push things further, with minimal use and just casual browsing on social media and answering phone calls, I can get 2.5 days. After working 8 hour days, my phone battery is at about 70% and that’s definitely a good sign. Android 11 doesn’t have too much bloatware and knows how to optimize your phone for better battery life. It helps limit background apps and for phones with these kinds of specs, it’s really great to have. The battery did get hot while gaming however. USB C charging is definitely a plus!! And it fits perfectly into my ecosystem of USB C devices. It’s convenient to share only one kind of connector. I amSpeed:These days, 4gb of ram should be the bare minimum for any phone-including budget phones AND phones made in 2021. With 4gbs of ram, this phone is able to run just about every application. I can open about 2 heavy usage games in the background and transfer between apps. I can also have Youtube playing while gaming but using multiple apps does slow down the phone quite a bit. Transferring apps slows down quite a bit and loading takes a bit longer when the phone is under load. If you were to compare it to current flagship phones, if using a flagship phone with the same amount of apps and games open, they wouldn’t slow down. But this slowing down and app stuttering isn’t too much of a big deal as it’s not too obtrusive in the phone experience. If you keep your phone clean and are killing unused apps, this shouldn’t be a problem. The overall speed of running apps is also being impacted by the processor. The Helio P60 processor is equal to toe Snapdragon 660 which is about 3 years old. As a budget phone, this processor is not a bad choice. It’s not blazingly fast and paired with 4gb of ram, you’re not geared to do any heavy using on this phone.Gaming:This phone does well with gaming. The 4gb of ram is enough to run most demanding games like CoD Mobile, Wild Rift, FF First Soldier, Pub G, Genshin Impact, Mobile Legends, etc. After mixing and playing these games for about an hour, the battery started heating up a bit. It was noticeable but it didn’t affect the performance of the games. Combined with the Helio P60 however, you can only get the best performance at medium settings with 60fps max. Games do take some time to load however and I wasn’t too fond of that. I do use a Galaxy Z Fold 3 as a daily driver so comparing a current gen flagship with a budget, you can really tell how much you are missing out on. What matters though is that you have to play at medium settings to get the best experience. Loading times are longer and there are definitely frame drops and lag spikes. I wasn’t too much a fan of that. For the most part, the gaming experience was smooth when I tweaked the settings.Screen:The screen is advertised as Full HD, so that technically means it’s 1080p. The phone has a pre-applied screen protector which effects the smoothness of touching the screen. But once you take it off, scrolling through and running your fingers down the screen feels smoother and better. The colors aren’t vibrant and are more cold and saturated. But this can be fixed with a quick fix in the settings; you just turn on the vibrant color setting and everything seems to look a tiny bit better. Still though, this screen isn’t going to give you great viewing experiences when it comes to streaming Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Prime, etc. The screen is also what I would consider long, making all the content stretched out. This also effects gaming, making some buttons and controls smaller than on other devices. There is a tear drop notch at the top but this doesn’t effect usability and the experience at all. It’s just one of those set it and forget it types of deal.Speakers:The speakers on this phone are not amazing. Frankly speaking, they’re just not IT. There’s only 1 speaker at the back of the phone and they can get louder than phones in the same price range but they sound a but muffled. They’re good for the occasional content streaming but you would rather ditch these and go with a different phone with better quality speakers if audio is your thing. These do the trick but in the long run they’ll let you down.Camera:The camera is really just mediocre. It’s not amazing and you’ll be taking pictures and getting quality from like 5 years ago. I don’t take too many pictures but from a typical user’s standpoint. The camera should not be the thing that sells you on this phone. It’s not good quality but it’ll do for the time being. Don’t bring this camera to a family gathering because you’ll look whack. 20MP camera could do better than that. There is a camera bump and the edges of the rubber corners are not raised. The phone when laid flat will wobble a bit showing that it sits on the bump.Overall I do like this phone and would actually consider using it as a phone that I can beat up. Bring it to work and drop it a few times and it’ll still survive. While the sound quality and camera aren’t quite up to par, the overall usage of the phone is a good experience. It’s not a super slow phone and it doesn’t slow down too much. The processor will probably keep this phone alive for the next 2 years before you need to upgrade. 4gb of ram is about the bare minimum and you will need to upgrade in about 2 years as you move onto more demanding uses. Honestly though, for this price you’re getting something good! It runs Android 11 and the most recent update was August 2021. So I’m sure this phone will be getting some more support in the next year to come.
