We needed a 3-gang switch plate in our kitchen, but the backsplash tiles weren't cut out to fit a the larger metal ones. All of our switch plates are oiled bronze and we took our old switch plate and spray-painted it with oiled bronze paint, but that paint scratched off every six months. This brown plastic switch plate was small enough to fit the cutout and the dark color matches nicely to our other switch plates and outlet plates. Since it brown plastic all the way through the color won't be scratching off and revealing some lighter color underneath. The only thing that doesn't match is the plastic high-gloss and not the matte finish we have on other, but that's a trade-off we can live with.

The brown is one shade away from BLACK. The product itself is great and feels durable and fits well. The only complaint is the color... which is the only reason I purchased it. They did not have brown at the hardware store so to Amazon I went. It is so dark that it looks black. Only if the sun is shining right on it will is look brown. Just know it is dark chocolate brown.

Good Price - fit well- Just be aware this is just a simple plastic plate - I had to replace a couple dozen through out the house we bought- and did not want to spend a lot of dollars. The good news is - the same brand name had all the different types I needed.

We have tanish paint on our walls in the rooms we have redone. We put white covers on most of our switches and plugs. I ordered one of these in ivory just to see how they would look. Oh, my !!!!! it made such a difference. They almost disappear on the wall. And they are made to not be so brittle, as most of the plastic ones are. My hubby likes to tighten things a little too tight and almost all of ours were cracked. These are made not to do that. (Although, I didn't take a chance this time. I installed them myself.) Anyway, they look great. I wound up ordering a few more, then even ordered more. I will keep on till I get them all done. They are a little more expensive than you can buy someplace else, but I think they are a cut above what you get elsewhere.
