Lifelong David Sunflower Seeds fan... converted for life to Spitz.
A little background first... I have been spitting seeds regularly for the past 16 years. I started with David Original Sunflower Seeds, 14.5 -Ounce Bags (Pack of 12) since they were the most recognizable brand, and stuck with them nearly exclusively for that entire stretch. My preferred method of seeding is to stick a handful (15 - 20 seeds) in my cheek and spit them into a cup or onto the ground. I go through a bag of sunflower seeds very quickly; I used to buy the big bag of David seeds and would go through that in about 1 week.Recently I was at a gas station and in need of some seeds and noticed these. They were cheaper than David so I thought "I'll give it a try." After using these seeds for the past 3 months, I can say with no hesitation: these are the best sunflower seeds of them all. Here are the main reasons why these seeds are the best:1. Great, great flavor. I have tried a lot of the different flavors of Spitz and they are all great (in particular the Smoky BBQ flavor). This Cracked Pepper flavor is the best. The flavor is not overpowering, but not too subtle that you won't notice it. Has some spice to it but definitely not too much.2. The saltiness. With David and Bigs my cheek practically becomes raw after an hour or so of storing seeds. I do not have that problem with Spitz.3. The price. With Subscribe & Save these come out to about $1.20 per bag... doesn't get much cheaper than that.4. The bag. David seeds do not come in a resealable bag, so I would always dump mine into a ziplock bag. There are some other brands (such as BIGS Frank's RedHot Buffalo Wing Sunflower Seeds, 5.35-Ounce Bags (Pack of 12)) that come in resealable bags, but they are cheap and do not hold up well. These resealable feature on this bag is one of the best I've ever seen in any food product, and it completely eliminates the need to transfer to a ziplock.

BEST Sunflower Seeds EVER!!!
I love sunflower seeds. I have for years. I pop a handful in my mouth and store the shells on one side, while I crack and extract the seed on the other. One side with unopened shells, one with open shells. I am a pro. With that said, these sunflower seeds are top shelf. They are larger than most brands and plenty flavorful. My favorite variety by far are the Cracked Pepper flavor. It basically taste like a well seasoned steak. NO KIDDING! I have tried the black pepper from other brands (Davids etc.) but they are sub-par. Usually too salty and not great flavor. The Spitz brand is the way to go. At less than $2 a pack, this is a great deal. Not all stores carry Spitz so Amazon is a very convenient way to get them (by the dozen no less). If you love sunflower seeds, buy Spitz Sunflower Seeds. If you love steak and sunflower seeds, buy Spitz Cracked Pepper Flavored Sunflower Seeds.

Hands down, the best sunflower seeds around.
Hands down these are the best sunflower seeds ever....I mean ever. I've honestly tried most sunflower seeds offered by David's, Spitz, Jack Beem, Bigs and others. These seeds have the most flavor of nearly any seed on the market. If your a fan of pepper, ground pepper or have ever pepper to anything for extra flavoring, these seeds are perfect for you. Don't simply think the seeds will be spicy or hot because they are pepper, they are not spicy at all. They simply have a taste that's honestly hard to explain in words, but honestly you will not be let down by these. I've probably purchased a dozen plus boxes this year (and received another handful or dozen) as random gifts (yes, sounds funny but I requested them). They are utterly phenomenal. By eating these things it cuts down my cravings for a cigarette (bad habit I know) or drinking liquids (such as water, tea, soda, etc). These are usually $22-$24 a case on here but lately they have been priced around $11-$12 for whatever reason. I jumped at the chance and dialed up a combined 8 boxes through my two accounts on Amazon.I'm not sure regarding anyone's else experience but you cannot find these in any stores in the Chicagoland area, at least not the stores I frequent.A+ Rating

I've always loved David's Sun Flower Seeds growing up and it's not ...
Delicious! I bought several bags of these in a single pack @ Turkey Hill, a store here in PA. They were on Sale, I've always loved David's Sun Flower Seeds growing up and it's not hard to impress with a Sun Flower Seed if you ask me! But after a 3-6 buy of individual bags at the store (Granted they were VERY on Sale) I bought this case and never looked back! I'm about to include it on my Amazon regular Order, with my Vita Coco! These are really a much higher quality product than Davids, I mean...there's nothing wrong with Davids, I still love them, but these truly seem to have a WAY less defective seed in the bag. Davids have some that are cracked and just BAD here and there...i mean sure it's small, David's also have a more (though not common) NON-Seed inclusion, like bits of stalk or...whatever it is, sure i don't mind the flavor/salination, but if it's tough and hard among a mouth of seeds, it's displeasure. I am def. a fan of Spitz, especially Pickle flavor! My Daughter (6yo) loves em too!. She's learning the trade :) However I will give credit to the old David's packs about a "Pro" ... ;) that's what she'll become!
