Where do you come from!
The book lived up to its review. It was both entertaining and nostalgic. Loved the recipes included together with the background history. The pages took me back to my childhood days in India and helped understand some of the idiosyncrasies of the custom, language, lifestyle and religion of the Anglo Indians.

This wasn’t for me….
I ordered this book thinking it would provide a combination of recipes and stories ….which it partially does and whilst the author has provided an interesting narrative of her families journey, I didn’t find it rewarding. The layout is poor and the image aren’t strong so what could have nee interesting is let down by format and needs some editing. Praise for the author for trying to tackle an interesting subject but it need more to make it work

Make sure it’s what you want
Arrived in good condition but was a bit disappointed with the format. It is a large book unwieldy for reading and seems to be more of a cookbook than anything else.

Loved the illustrations and the family story that inspired the book. Well worth buying, I don’t think you will pass it on.
