Surprisingly good paints
This is a reorder. I haven't used all of the paint up from the previous package, but I have used the entire tube of the phthalo blue. That color alone is worth the cost of the set of paints. It's pigment saturation is better than some really expensive paints I have. All of the colors are great, some are far more opaque than others. Overall, it really is a wonderful set of watercolors (though not all wash off well and some, once dry, will not come off at all, this is fine for me, but keep it in mind if you want to work wet after it dried, most of these colors do not rewet on paper well.) All of the colors rewet in my palette just fine. They look crumbly and will even crack and pull up when they are really dry, but add a few drops of water and the paint is ready to be used again.

Really love these!
These are very, very vibrant and beautiful "watercolors." (Caveat: they don't act like any other watercolor I've ever used, thus the quotations, so it does take some experimenting/practice to get used to how they work.) I love how pigmented these are, and I love that they can be mixed with Chinese and Sumi Inks...which is one of the reasons I bought them. A little bit of them goes a long way, so each of the 12ml tubes will probably last for a while. What holds this back from 5 stars is the lack of color variation in the package. (Edit 8/9/18: When I made my purchase, the product images were different and didn't include a look at what was inside the box.) There's a lot of red and brown in here (see pictures attached), and the tube of green isn't quite a true color match to the color swatch on the back. Still, I'm sure you can probably mix any color you'd want with the primary colors included, so it's not that much of a setback.I've been using Yasutomo's Sumi Inks for years, so I was very excited to try this product. All in all, I'm very satisfied.

Absolute perfect watercolour set
I absolutely love using this watercolour set. They are perfect and works well with traditional painting. Since these colours are made for traditional Chinese painting, the binding agents and materials of the pigments used are made to be able to mix in properly with Chinese ink. Which cannot be done with western watercolour because doing the same thing would produce a muddy colour. I have not encounter any difficulty using this product, it's all in the painting style and using the proper paper that are made this purpose. The colour remains on the paper and does not bleed, spread or run during wet mounting which is characteristic Chinese watercolour, unlike western watercolour. So in all, use the product as it was intended to be used (aka use it properly) and you will achieved great if not perfect results every time. A great economical alternative to the Marie's Chinese water colours, although Marie's have a wider selection and series of colours.

Great buy! Vibrant colors!
I could not believe the price for this set! I worried about the quality of it, but when it came, I could not have been more impressed. The set gives you an adequate amount of each color (enough to complete at least five paintings). And the colors are surprisingly vibrant - they must have a lot of pigment in them, which is surprisingly for a set in this price range (a higher pigment density usually means more money). The only negative I see with this set is that when wet, the paint does have a "paint smell". This smell is gone when the paint dries. Considering how dangerous the odors associated with some paint thinners can be, and that watercolors are used with water instead (no chemical thinners needed!), I still consider this set a relatively safe bet and a relatively safe buy.Additionally, because the colors are relatively rich and vibrant, they may stain some fabrics if you give this set to a child. Because I am an adult, this does not bother me. I would rather have rich, bright colors on my artwork.Over all, I would recommend this set to a friend.

Buy them, try them but know what to expect...
I've been using these watercolors off and on for 2 years (I don't use them often) and am ready to tell-all. As an inexpensive watercolor they serve their purpose, but there are some notable usage tips / limitations with each color. The pigment and consistency doesn't lay the same in each so I've reviewed them individually and included pics to help illustrate my points.14 Burnt Sienna - Thick, goop-type consistency and works best watered down heavily (rich color turns dry and cracks / chips on the painting).19 Scarlet - Smooth texture and very vivid color that can be used with any amount of water with good result.25 Gamboge Yellow - Brilliant yellow hue and works with any water usage but dries VERY quickly, so be warned!50 Chinese White - Kinda soupy out of the tube but works well enough for opaque painting needs - dries quickly too!51 Vermilion - Watery straight from the tube but works well with any water addition and stays wet for a while.52 Cinnabar - Dries quickly making it tough to integrate with other colors.53 Rouge - Gloppy from the tube but a deep, rich hue that works with any amount of water but dries rather quickly.54 Carmine Red - Bubbly and juicy from the tube but a little goes a long way: my favorite and the richest color of all!55 Light Green - Thick out of the tube, OPAQUE and takes a while to dry.56 Blue - Runny out of the tube, this is a nice, muted blue-gray that dries very quickly.57 Phthalo Blue - Thick out of the tube, OPAQUE and takes lots of paint for good coverage.58 Indigo - Nothing like the blue-violet shade shown on the box or on the product page, it has NO violet shades at all, gloppy out of the tube, but a little goes a VERY long way (it's almost hard to use it up)!Overall, these paints are worth the price but are nothing to boast about. I'm glad I tried them, but won't be buying again - well, maybe just the 54 Carmine Red, if it were ever sold separately. See pics for demonstration of the color usage and please let me know if the review helps. Thanks!

Täuschung durch den Hersteller.
The media could not be loaded.
