Holds 25 pairs of my shoes
I got this to replace a less sturdy shoe organizer that was made of PVC pipes and synthetic material shelves. I chose this one for the doors, shelves and drawer and it's exactly what I wanted.AssemblyMy boyfriend surprised me by assembling this before I got home, so I didn't have much to do with the assembly. But what he said was the instructions were a bit confusing, particularly on installing the metal drawer guides and the feet. He said the instructions looked to be incorrect on how to install the metal drawer guides, like the images were backwards. He also said the foot installation was odd (like part 18 goes on the front left side and rear right side, something along that line). But overall, he said it wasn't difficult to assemble himself. Note that you will need to open the doors all the way to put the shelves in, so if you're putting it in a closet like I did, make sure the shelves are in first.CapacityI was able to fit 25 pairs of women's size 8.5 shoes in this. If you look at my photo, you can see how I have my shoes arranged - several pairs are stacked to allow that many pairs to fit. You can see on some rows I do not stack the shoes and can fit 3-4 pairs across. If you do not stack any of your shoes, expect to fit about 12-16 pairs of shoes, depending on the width. If you were to stack all of your shoes, you could potentially fit 8 pairs per shelf for a total of 32 pairs. It just depends on your shoe size and organization.DrawerThe drawer is one of my favorite parts of this shoe holder. It's a decent height, but not quite tall enough to fit my IKEA drawer organizers in. I'd thought about keeping my socks in there, but I need to use the organizers. Instead, I keep my insoles, some jewelry and travel shoe bags in there. It's a nicely sized drawer.SmellSome of the reviews said this unit had a strong chemical odor. I did not have that same experience. I put my nose right against it and could just smell wood and maybe a slight odor from the paint/stain, but mostly, it smelled almost like cedar or pine. It's in my closet and my closet has not acquired any scent from this piece of furniture. There's also a sticker on the unit claiming it is "California 93120 compliant for formaldehyde phase 2." According to Google, California's CWP Regulation is one of the most stringent regulations in effect to limit formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products. I don't have a means of testing whether this unit is actually compliant, but thought it was worth mentioning.SturdinessI have found this unit to be plenty sturdy for my needs. I use it daily and it's held up to normal usage of opening the doors and drawer on a daily basis. I have not stood on it, but would imagine it could hold an average adult if needed. I don't plan on using this as a stepstool, but it seems quite sturdy. Probably the weakest part is the shelf holders. I've included a photo showing that they are plastic. Since I'm just storing shoes in it, this is not an issue, but if I was storing heavier items, I would replace the plastic shelf holders with metal ones from the hardware store. They're pretty inexpensive.SizeI have a walk-in closet, so this fit well in there. I was a little disappointed that the feet were not tall enough so that I could fit shoes underneath, but since it holds so many pairs of my shoes, that's not really necessary. As for fitting larger shoes, there's a couple inches of space behind my shoes, as you can see in the photos, so it should be able to hold larger sized shoes. If in doubt, I'd look at the shelf measurements and compare to your shoes to ensure your shoes will fit.OverallI love this. The house gets dusty, even in my closet sometimes, so this helps keep my shoes looking cleaner and keeps them out of the way. The drawer is fantastic for storing little items in my closet and I can set things on top if needed. I'm extremely pleased with this unit and recommend it for anyone wanting a nice-looking storage unit with doors and a drawer. I think it's a very versatile piece of furniture that will last me a long time.

Beautiful and sturdy
I love this shoe cabinet. I changed out the hardware on mine to match my decor. It's sturdy, beautiful and nice quality. The only thing that's "low quality" is the backing, so don't go hard-throwing steel toed boots in it there.Definitely save a couple of hours to assemble if you are alone. Happy with our purchase and recommend.

Decent looking shoe storage, allow lots of time for assembly
I have assembled most of the furniture in my house, and this was challenging. The box is incredibly heavy. Delivery left it on my front steps, so I had to open the box and bring it in but by bit. There were many,Many bits!!When it first arrived, whatever varnish they used STANK. I’d had to break open the box to bring it in, so the fumes kind of took over the house. After a day or so, I moved all the parts to my shed so the stink could dissipate for a while. Two weeks later, I had time to assemble it and yeah, it still stank a little, but not as bad.As to assembly—it’s difficult. I have assembled a lot of furniture, so I kind of understand how things are supposed to go, but there are no actual words in the instructions and the drawings are a little smaller than ideal. Pay close attention to the details in the drawings to distinguish directionality. The drawer slides on mine were mislabeled, so I initially installed them wrong, but I was able to see the problem and redo it.Total assembly time was 4-5 hrs, just me by myself. I HIGHLY recommend a power screwdriver. It would be very annoying without one. And also, especially if you have the black finish, work in a place with lots of light.I think the cabinet looks fine. Clearly it’s not a high-end item, but serves my purpose (to get my shoes off the floor and hide my keys/sunglasses/sunscreen etc out of plain view).

Well Made Very Useful
I bought 2 of these for our back hallway to hold shoes. While there are a lot of parts, if you follow the instructions, it goes together perfectly. Everything lined up beautifully - very impressive. Once assembled it is very sturdy with a nice paint finish in black. All the parts were there and there was extra hardware. It is very well made. But it is not solid wood I am adding a good shelf paper in the drawers and on the shelves and a glass top to extend its life.

Perfect entryway shoe cabinet.
A little time consuming putting together even with 2 people. Two of the pieces were labeled incorrectly and we noticed after screwing in place so they had to be removed once we realized the next piece we needed wasn't the one labeled. There were only 2 minor defects in the wood pieces but not noticeable once assembled. The sturdiness improved after the last 2 pieces were placed (the additional shelves,) however there is still some wiggle when pushed from one side. Although this may be because I only had a hand screwdriver putting it together. It also doesn't house as many shoes as I had hoped. I only got 3 mens size 10/womens size 11 per shelf comfortably. I didn't like the pulls it came with so ordered some silver modern pulls that fit the screws it came with perfectly. The drawer is a great size and perfect complement to an entryway for mail and keys. The doors close great and the drawer is smooth. Overall, I love this cabinet and it was exactly what I needed!
