Works well - needs precision targeting

Really makes a difference to my Orion SpaceProbe 130ST EQ Reflector telescope close up view of our other closest solar system planets ! Not worth buying just for close up views of our Moon though, the Orion 130ST EQ comes with sufficient lenses for that. But worth purchasing for better close up views of the rings of Jupiter and Saturn. I was quite surprised to find, using this Barlow 5x lens, that Jupiter had rings ! ( Where have I been ???...) Also brilliant for seeing some moons of closer 'neighbourhood' solar system planets. Great buy for me and my amateur inquisitiveness of the stars overall.

I just got my Barlow lens tonight and immediately tested it out viewing Saturn. I was amazed how large the image became. I used it with my  Orion SpaceProbe 130ST Equatorial Reflector Telescope  with the 10mm lens it came with. This was also in a bright city, with a tiny bit of moisture in the sky.The image was a bit darker then when using a standard lens but was still crisp enough to see all the detail of Saturn's rings and even five of its larger moons. Be warned though that the image will not be as crisp (at least with my telescope).I also tried looking at stars but it was a bit blurred and was very hard to focus. This is a known issue since the Barlow lens is designed for planets and lunar.Overall if you are going to get a Barlow lens this would be the one, since it magnifies at an insane 5x. This is a nice addition for my Celestron NexStar 6SE. I used it for the first time this week and has some much better views of the visible planets. Took some great close up pictures of the moon's surface!. The body is aluminum, seems quite sturdy. The set screws have a larger knurled surface that is easy to grip and feel in the dark.

I bought this used, because new was to expensive for me, so when i got this on the mail, everything look like new, the box was a bit dirty, but i thing this box was left on water or something like that cause i cleaned it with alcohol an it almost got 100% clean. But the orion Barlow is perfect.
