Do I need to buy 2 of this same set for my wife with her own bike??

Each rider needs their own headset on their helmet. Both riders having the same headset makes connecting them easiest.

What kind of mic does it come with? Boom or boomless?

Hi, Cardo had two types of microphones, one is the hybrid boom, and the other is a corded mic for full-face helmets. The Packtalk Black has both in the box.
