Amazing gadget!
I was getting concerned by the amount of dust I could see in the air when the sun shone in, so I bought an air purifier. I was still kind of curious, about the air inside AND out, so I pickup up this little unit. It's been fascinating, to compare indoor and outdoor air quality, and see the changes just from everyday things, like what happens to the air when you preheat a gas oven in the kitchen. At this point, my indoor air--with the purifier--is almost always "good" or "excellent" compared to the outdoors which, in L.A., is often well into the "polluted" range. If you're curious about what you're breathing, this little thing is a great way to find out!

Reliable CO2 monitor
The quality of the device is excellent, especially its design and simplicity. After using the device for almost two weeks, the CO2 and PM data correspond accordingly, based on the frequency of how much I open windows. Monitoring CO2 daily shocked me a bit by how dramatic the changes could be during the days when we had forest fires here in Colorado when I open or close windows. In terms of price-quality ratio, this is a great deal.

Well built and looks cool
Easy to use, seems well built and looks really cool! Measures several components of air quality. It was great to learn that air is pretty clean at our place.

"Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe"
This lyric from The Hollies speaks to the importance of breathing -- but only if the air quality is good. The summer when this review was made has been difficult in Greece, many places in the Western U.S., and elsewhere in the climate-ravaged world. Air quality due to fires, which added in cities like Denver and Phoenix to already-smoggy conditions, deteriorated to dangerous levels. But how bad is it? If your lungs are already impaired (Long haul COVID?), should you be worried?Using a form factor strongly reminiscent of an old transistor radio, the Air Steward goes some distance, though I can't judge how far, to give you something more than the binary (good/bad) assessment you'd get from a smoke or CO2 detector.Keep the manual! See the page with the heading, "Threshold Levels" to interpret the readings you receive.PRO- Rare consumer product with this feature set- Useful for climate crisis incidents such as fires, chemical leaksCON- Indoor use only- No Wi-Fi- No calibration steps (How can you know whether the readings are accurate?)- Replaceable battery? 2600 mAh battery is used, but is it user-replaceable?This is a not inexpensive product, but you might consider purchasing one which also offers Wi-Fi, and adds temperature, humidity (which also must be calibrated), radon.

The dream of the '80s is alive in this box
I love the retro design aesthetic here, harkening back to the "beige box" era of electronic devices that peaked in the '80s. It's super-simple to use, with all of the controls packed into a single knob. And the (circular!) display is a treat to look at.I have no complaints about the functionality. If you want a simple real-time CO2 and particulate monitor ("real-time" meaning you can't log the data for later, except by writing down what you see on the screen), this works great. I haven't attempted to compare it to other devices, so I can't attest to its accuracy, but the numbers I saw feel plausible: rising CO2 levels when in an enclosed room with me, rising PM levels when in my kitchen while I'm cooking, etc. Note that it can only show one metric (CO2, PM2.5, or PM10) at a time.My only real complaint is the noise. The device is silent most of the time, but it makes a beep when you turn the knob to switch from one metric (CO2, PM2.5, or PM10) to another. I assume the beep was intended to be a small pip, like you hear when you turn the device off, but instead it comes out as a shrill whine, loud enough to make anyone else in the vicinity turn their heads and glare. It's a weird design flaw in a device that is, in every other respect, a pleasure to use.Oh, and the charging port is an esoteric 5V plug. It's a crying shame that this device doesn't use USB-C, or at least micro-USB.

Fast and accurate PM2.5, PM10 and CO2 measurements.
The Air Steward is a perfect portable air quality monitor. It’s very easy to use and returns immediate measurements for PM2.5, PM10 and CO2. This is a very advanced and effective meter for detecting overall air quality, PM2.5 is widely used to measure city air quality. People who have allergies and other air quality sensitivities can easily benefit from one of these devices. If you have ever wondered if there was particulate matter in the air this is exactly what you need. This monitor is very portable, and the internal rechargeable battery lasts for roughly 4 hours. Overall, the quality and performance of this air quality monitor is very good.
