Definitely contains triggers.
Let me start this review by advising you that there are triggers so if you're someone who is effected by things I would urge you to look for the triggers before reading.Let's talk about the book.Okay so this one was a hard one to rate. I did enjoy the book but there was so much "dark" content in this book that for me it became hard to read in areas.I don't normally read dark romancesAnd no judgement to those who doBut it was to much for me.That being said, the writing is excellent (Which only added to the, at times, really hard to read and sensitive material within the book)The characters were well developed and the storyline well thought out and flowed beautifully. So my review is tricky because if you're a fan of dark romances with some very sensitive and very dark events then yes, I highly recommend this book. But if dark romances aren't your thing then I say this isn't the book for you.

Cj and Melissa
New to this author, it's not often I come across over 400 pages with kindle unlimited books but this one is so the story continues for ages lots of action and not for the faint hearted (warning sexual assault) I liked the overall storyline and this book is about CJ having to work two cases and also Melissa trying to move on from a sick murderer ex.we also get to see some of CJ team.but there was a few things that bugged me,first the flower guy, cj is ment to be super smart that guy gave his name and was so demanding about taking her home why did they not run a check on him? Also CJ going on about how hot Charlie is, when he is ment to be into Melissa? Creepy much.and lastly Melissa they same creepy flower guy shows up at her hotel the guy who freaked her out with flowers not just once but twice shows up at hotel she did not need to open door, could of slipped a tip though door and picked up flowers when he was gone.really how dumb.apart from that it was a good read

5 awesome stars!
Wow… Where do I start? I loved this book!I wasn’t sure what to expect from the blurb, but Twist of Fate turned out to be well-balanced mix of love story mixed up with a fantastic kidnapping plot starring not one but two whacked out freaks. Seriously, the bad guys made this book – one serial killer, one kidnapper, each with their own warped fantasies that twist together in the sickest of ways. The Prince was written in first person (the rest of the book is in third) which lets readers get right into his head.CJ, the male lead, is a hot mix of sweet and tough who meets Melissa when she falls in front of his truck in a hurricane. With Melissa being the ex-wife of the aforementioned serial killer who murdered CJ’s sister, it makes for an interesting dynamic that develops throughout the books. The book also includes a strong supporting cast – CJ’s gun-toting colleagues, Charles the nurse, two adorable kids, and the harem of princesses the Prince keeps in his dungeon. The characters’ personalities were revealed slowly throughout the book and some of them kept me guessing to the end. I hope to see more from these characters, especially CJ’s buddies who I imagine have some interesting tales to tell. The writing style was very descriptive, possibly a little too much so at times, but it allowed me to build up a good picture of the small American town as the story unfolded, from the hospital, to the fancy hotel, to the Prince’s lair.I'd definitely recommend this book!

Exceptional writing
This was a phenomenal read! I'm not usually a fan of books written in different characters' perspectives, but in this instance, it added so much depth to the story and characters. Although this book was based on Melissa and CJ the backstory to them getting together was gripping, physopaths, serial killers and kidnapping all weave together to create a captivating tale.

Kept me up half the night!
Many books are referred to as page turners, but this one really is! I got the impression that this author really made some profound research, as this story, seemed to be in the class, of that could really happen! Just had to keep reading, until I knew the end, as there were many layers to the story, well done Ms Masters. I'll be reading more of your books.

page turner
This really was a page turner….. I couldn’t put this book down. Had me entranced from the first page. Whilst it was dark in places, the suspense, roller coaster of emotions, twists and turns you didn’t expect and story line was brilliant. Loved Melissa and CJ and hopefully will see them in the next books.

Gritty suspence, hostage story with a love story
Second time I have read this book, the book can be a stand alone, but also mentions characters from other books, Melissa thought her day of being afraid of her murderous husband were over, the day he was to be executed a tornado hit, cj was in town to witness the death of his sisters killer. But no one knew the killer had an apprentice. Another fantastic book written by the author

Enthralling and suspenfull
I thoroughly enjoyed this series and have already downloaded the next instalment. This is a standalone but you can revisit characters from previous books. This has a good plot and characters which made you want to finish to see what happens! I thoroughly recommend this book if you enjoy a good plot, steamy scenes and great characters.
