Highly recommend
Great DVD - I love that there are short segments - which makes this particular program very usable. While I would love to just sit and meditate for 45 minutes at a time, this isn't always practical. The instructor has a calming presence. I am very happy with this purchase (very affordable too!)

This is an excellent dvd to meditate to. I love her soothing voice. I like how you can select from the menu on how much time you have to spend. Really pleased w/my purchase.

Use with caution
I initially did just the breathing part but later tried the stretching. That's where my problems started. This was supposed to be for beginners but hyper extending your hips and sides is not really a good idea for beginners. I did the stretches once and now a week later I have bursitis of my hip and can barely walk. The stretches didn't hurt while I did them but hours later I could barely move. Not cool@

Simple and effective
This is perfect for beginners or people who cannot do many basic yoga poses. Her voice is relaxing and the music reminds me of being in a spa. The stretching is not too harsh and she offers alternatives if that stretching is painful.

Simple, effective and relaxing.
A nice easy way to relax and find some inner calm. I've tried meditation in the past and find my mind wanders and 10 minutes feels like an hour. This focuses on breathing and positive affirmations, which helps me feel calm and relaxed.I've also tried yoga, but being very inflexible I find even simple moves can be difficult and uncomfortable, so the simple stretches and movements are great...although I either sit on a chair or kneel as I can't sit cross-legged. A pleasant way to find some peace for those who are stressed, anxious or just in need of slowing down a little and taking some time out to focus on yourself.

Dividido en sesiones de 5, 10, 15 o 20 minutos puedes hacer sesiones breves o juntarlas todas en una sesión más larga dependiendo del tiempo que tengas disponible. Tanto el tono de voz de la profesora como la música de fondo es muy relajante. Tras la práctica te invade una sensación de relajación tanto física como mental. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

If you are looking for a moment of stillness.....
As a full-time teacher and part-time carer, who has had to live with insomnia, on and off for the last 7 years, a meditation DVD was just the thing. I bought Nadia Narain's "Beginners' meditation and mindful stretching" in the hope that I could sleep more, and turn off my mind from teaching matters. I am happy to report that this DVD is the only strategy that succeeds in "emptying" my mind of everyday issues, and allows me to sleep. Went back to school today, after the summer break, and did the "breathing" and "energising" meditations as soon as I awoke, and I was remarkably calm.afterwards. I would recommend this DVD to anyone who feels over-stimulated by 21st century life, and is looking to stretch out tension while finding a moment of stillness and peace.I also have Nadia Narain's "Everyday yoga for stress release", which I use regularly to burn off tension and relax. Both DVDs are brilliant, so buy them!
