Bought in place of an Action Camera
I saw this camera was going for a decent price, and despite not being law enforcement, this seemed like it could come in handy for personal record keeping while I work on electronics projects. I wanted an easily mountable or clip on camera that was sturdy, didn't need a case and could have a wide angle shot so I could see everything on my desk from a closer distance. I know a GoPro probably sounds like the first choice for that sort of thing, but I didn't like the mounting solutions or the amount of accessories needed. This seemed like a good choice as a standalone product.A sturdy clip on camera that shoots 1080p with a wide angled lens, burst photo functions at 4K, but more importantly, it has a huge 2800 mAH battery that could last probably a pretty long time. I also like that I don't need to buy a case to make it waterproof, and that it has a charge cradle so I can just stick the whole device in there when I'm done using it. The camera itself seems sturdy, but thankfully not too heavy despite the rugged shell, big battery and waterproofing. The voice was a little startling, but the picture quality seemed pretty great, certainly good enough for my own uses. The night vision also worked well, but that was more of a test for fun than a function I really needed. Night vision records a sharp image in black and white using Infared, rather than the disorienting green color that you might see on TV, which is something I'm thankful for.All in all, a pretty cool piece of kit that I can hopefully use for a long time.
