A: Don’t waste your money first outing it blew inside out. Yes it has a cover

**Q: How big is the umbrella when opened**
A: When fully opened it covers an area of 40 inches diameter.

**Q: Does it have slot type openings for the wind to blow through?**
A: No it does not, however it is 12 ribbed so it works for light to moderate wind without turning inside out as compared to other brollies. Anything more than moderate it will turn inside out which I have found. Great brollie for light to heavy rain, but for moderate wind only.

It’s definitely a very strong umbrella but is NOT really windproof. It does still invert when winds are strong but less frequently than usual/cheap umbrellas. The material is thick, and the whole thing feels very sturdy. It opens very nicely, and clicking the button again will prompt it to close the canopy, but you have to force the closed canopy back down the pole to get it to lock back into place in order to be able to open it again. I find this really tedious and sometimes quite difficult, as it is spring-loaded and resists you pushing it.
