great compass/gps module!
The Matek M8Q-5883 GPS Compass Module is a must-have for any drone enthusiast or autonomous vehicle designer. As someone who loves tinkering with drones, I found the module to be a game-changer in terms of precision and accuracy. The module's compact size and built-in magnetometer make it ideal for drones, providing accurate orientation and direction sensing data. The module's highly sensitive receiver quickly acquires satellite signals, even in weak signal strength areas, giving me the confidence to fly my drone with peace of mind. What I appreciate most about the Matek M8Q-5883 GPS Compass Module is its ease of installation and configuration. It was a breeze to integrate the module into my existing drone design, and the range of options available for adjusting the module's behavior made it easy to customize the performance to suit my specific needs. Overall, the Matek M8Q-5883 GPS Compass Module is an outstanding investment for anyone looking to take their drone or autonomous vehicle to the next level. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for precise and reliable GPS capabilities.

Worked great for my application!
I needed a solution for a TBS crossfire gps/compass module over BST that wasn't sending its gps or heading info over mavlink through a Maytek 405 wing running ardupilot for fixed wing.soldered to some female pin connectors and plugged this Matek M8Q-5883 GPS Compass Module into the maytek 405 wing's 5v power, ground, clock2, data2, serial3tx, serial3rx and set the correct params for the serial stuff, gps type to ublox with auto configure, and other things needed to get crossfire and mavlink to work. i had to use both mavlink on one serial port and rcin on another with crossfire output pin maps set to mavlink and crossfire.

Good but beware
GPS is a nice unit. Locks on quickly. QMC compass (magnetometer) chip is a clone of a different HMC device. Lots of noise and bias on the signals. Unable to get a good mag calibration. Wiring harness that comes with it is very fragile. Wires easily break off the pins inside the connector. If this is for any RC, get a better plug/wire set and maybe add a bit of RTV where the wires go into the connector.

Really nice gps module.
This is the best gps module I have ever had. Easy setup and installation. Quick lock and picked up 8 satellites inside my house, was blown away by just that alone. Matek has the best products for using Inav.
