Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the next one!

From her time in the field, she knows how to keep from impeding an ongoing investigation, how to protect her sources, and is willing to plunge deep down into the dark and dangerous depths beneath the surface of these crimes.Believable characters, enticing plot line, and keeps you guessing until it all comes together. Would absolutely recommend for anyone who loves a good hard case crime novel with a touch of noir or is already hooked on true crime podcasts.

What an awesome murder mystery from a very talented writer, Kevin Luby!. I was drawn in at the very first chapter, which isn’t typical for me at all but the unknown murderer speaking right at the start was so captivating, it kept me so curious. Really smart strategy of the author as often it takes awhile to really get into other books but not his! I also greatly enjoyed coming across some “familiar names” and places in Oregon! Makes me want to visit Oregon to see the places mentioned and maybe even the author!! The ending was so surprising I had to go back and reread the last few chapters to see some of the clues. Definitely recommend you read not only this book but his previous one called Chasing Shadows. Both outstanding and easy reads yet well developed characters. I already lent the book to a good friend!

This novel by Kevin Luby, his third bestseller, is a page-turner from start to finish. Set in the charismatic Portland Oregon area, the author builds characters with the writing style of Hemingway with the mystery and suspense of John Grisham...it is impossible to put this book down and I found myself consumed inside the lives of the people in this book and at times reaching into each chapter to play a role. I can't recommend this book enough to anyone that loves a good murder mystery and who also thinks they "know the killer" before the book ends....you will be thrown for so many turns, your head will spin....Bravo Kevin Luby....bravo.

Wonderful murder mystery! I read this on a recommendation and so glad that I did. I almost exclusively read murder mystery series, and this holds up with the best of them. Written short and sweet with beautiful simplicity. The clear and fast paced writing makes one think they can predict where the story is going, but you will be surprised! The story is also modern and very relevant to current events and culture. Very fun to read especially as a Portland Oregon resident. Characters are lovely and you feel like you know them. Five stars and a sequel please!

As a lifelong mystery/thriller reader, I approach each new book with the hope of three things - 1) to be immersed in the narrative from the first few pages; 2) to be captivated by the characters and their stories to the point of wanting to know more about them; and 3) to be truly unable to solve the mystery myself or, even better, to be completely wrong when I think I have! Kudos to author Kevin Luby for hitting that rare hat trick and delivering on all three in his latest, Murder In Bridge City! I can’t wait for the sequel!

Luby has included just enough Portland area references to make those familiar with Stumptown feel right at home. This latest book represents a huge leap in Luby’s character development. His characters have a nuanced complexity that previous efforts were missing. From Portland Police Captains to news media types, Luby has found a sweet spot that will allow him to continue to follow the main characters into his next novel. Can’t wait!

We just finished reading the latest novel by this author, it was difficult to put down, the characters are well written although most have been severely damaged by life. The murder details are both chilling and fascinating. Neither of us were able to predict the story line. Another page turner! Well done!Larry and Maureen Huey
