Cooling fan works great!
Bought this as I have an amplifier in a too small space. Fan is a little loud but moves air keeping the amplifier at a decent temperature. Worth the spend.

A Six Star Product
This fan is quality all the way to Sunday! I can't say enough about how pleased I am with it!I bought this to help cool the boys PS4 that's in an entertainment cabinet I built. It replaces the floor fan they stuck in front of the PS4 to cool it for the past couple years. As a DIYer I was going to cobble together some kind of cabinet fan until I saw this one for $30. I couldn't put a decent cooling system together for 30 bucks!I was a bit skeptical with the low price until I got it. Wow. It's packaged like it's a Faberge Egg. Best packing I've seen this side of an iPhone. The fan construction looks great. It's plastic (I bought the rectangular version) but the bezel is a very convincing faux brushed aluminum finish. It comes with more hardware than you need. With matching wood or machine screws. It has a fantastic clear plastic template for doing the cutout (I used a miniature saw blade on a Dremel to cut it out). And the instructions were well laid out in perfect English. It's powered by a USB port, which means it comes on with the PS4. But it also has a wall wart to power it as well. The USB cord comes with an OFF/low/med/high speed switch that is conveniently placed on the cord so you can tuck it away.Above all, being a media cabinet fan and all, it is whisper quiet! Even at the highest setting it is acceptable except for maybe the quietest parts of a movie. But even at the lowest setting, where I have it now, it moves plenty of hot air out.I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

Great Product - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
I am assembling a stereo system and required a cooling fan for a custom cabinet I built. My concern was cutting the hole into the cabinet without ruining the finish or showing any distress signs. I ordered the AC Infinity Controller 1, thermal trigger and AC Airplate S2 which fit best in the cabinet design. From opening the box to final installation, these products are first class. The boxing reminded me of when I bought my first Apple product - well packaged, insulated and a custom look that from first appearance made me feel happy about the purchase. Once opened, the instructions were detailed, clear and complete. Then I saw the clear plastic template provided for the cut-out. This isn't one of those dotted line, cut this out of the instructions template, but a separate plastic template for the cut out hole and face template for the Airplate S2 which made it EXTREMELY EASY to both mark the required cut out hole and place the face template exactly where I wanted it in the cabinet. First class engineering, thinking with the eyes of the customer. After installation, the Airplate S2 fan and thermal switch worked perfectly as described. The engineering of this product also allows for 3 additional fans to be added to the system and daisy chained to the original wiring via USB connection integrated into the fan design. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these products, and if they are any indication of how AC Infinity designs all of their products, they would be recommended too.

it is pretty hard to hear unless on med to high
While I don't know that it is "16 dba" or whatever they claim, it is quiet enough. I use it with the controller and, as long as the cabinet door is closed, it is pretty hard to hear unless on med to high, in which case usually the music is up as well. I may buy a second to keep the flow up and noise down. I will say the quality/finish of this item is stellar - looks great.

Fantastic.
After having got my hands on a PS5 several months back and installing it in place of the old PS4 in a book in our AV stand (no doors), I noticed a hot plastic smell after a few hours of play. I stuck my hand in there and realized the the Playstation 5 turned the little shelf into a toaster oven! Shut down, and began a search for a way to cool the shelf. Found this Device and installed it into the back of the cabinet blowing out behind. It sucks the hot air discharge up off the rear vent in the PS5 and blows it out the back perfectly. It is also USB powered so I have it being run by the PS5 so that it just turns on when the PS5 does. I can't hear it at all over the PS5 fans (which are already very quiet) and now it stays just barely warmer than the room in the shelf.PERFECT.TIP- I used a Dremel and a small 1/16th end mill to cut a whole for it in the shelf backing board.

High end look, quiet.
Installed two of these in the overhead cabinet for two 75 gallon aquariums to keep the humidity down. Packaging is top notch, fans arrived in excellent condition. The faceplate is very high quality anodized metal and looks very high end when installed. Fan comes with hardware to mount in wood or other surfaces and is of high quality.Fan comes with a clear gasket that can be used as a template for cutting the mounting hole. Installation was typical with no issues beyond normal placement, marking, cutting and installing.Fan runs quietly on lowest speed and moves substantial air on fastest speed but makes more noise. It has a through USB cord and comes with a wall power supply. If you are looking for a more high end look this is a great fan.

attractive, quiet and low profile
quiet and low profile - does a great job and is easy to mount. Combined with some other AC Infinity units it keeps our glass door enclosed AV furniture quietly cool even when running full 11.2 surround audio. To optimize the setup we use an Aircom T8 on top of the A/V receiver to control the cabinet temperature with 2x S3 blowing in from the sides, the S8 directing airflow from the hottest unit to the back and an S5 to extract the air in the lower shelf and the S2 to get the air out from the upper shelf (legacy components which don't create much heat). Optically very pleasing and components are barely audible under most conditions (preset the H/M/L switch on each S-family fan unit before connecting to the thermal control unit)
