The second level of the puzzle (present day Los Angeles) is composed of foam backed puzzle pieces that stick together well, and when you remove the little cut-outs for the buildings, enable you to stick the buildings into tight fitting holes so the buildings stand securely in their spot. The rest of the puzzle was ok. There were a couple of warped foam pieces on the second layer that were tough to piece together neatly so they left gaps.
