I did buy 2 off-brand batteries that work with it fine. Time will tell if the batteries have the stated 8AH, but the batterries are not part of the nailer, they were bought separately. The size is comperable to other nailers. Weight is fine, easy to manage and heavy enough that there is no rebound. It is easy to ensure the nails are going into the correct spot on the wood.
