It's true that this cushion seems hard at first, but it soon molds to your body. I now have 3 of them and they help me immensely with support for my spinal fractures. They also raise the height of my office chair, sofa, and car driver's seat - just enough! I can now see over the steering wheel with no problem.As for washing the cover, I once tried that and had some difficulty getting the cushion back in - therefore, I now sponge it down gently, and spray with disinfectant if needed but that is seldom required.The price is good and they last a long time - they do eventually squish down a bit, but I don't mind that. They seem to get more comfortable with age!!

It was recommended by a good friend and it was very comfortable. Tried others, but this is the best.

Cushioned my hard chairs & helped with back pain.

I needed to get another pillow/cushion, and the brand I have is no longer available.I went through several top reviewed cushions and they weren't right for me.I laugh at the fit comments.I'm a big girl, 16/18 plus size, and it fits my bottom just right.I'm not a light weight, And I still get support from the cushion.I love the shape & contouring. It's just like my old cushion.Everyone is different, every body type is different, this is a wonderful cushion, but it may not suit all bottoms.It is FSA deductable - at least on our plan - I hope that helps someone.

UP DATE - bought a new one: totally different cushion. Thicker not as good for me. Fall to the tailbone + car seat that does not fit + traveling for work = could not drive more than 30 minutes without pain in my tailbone and hip. This is the second seat cushion I've tried. This one works much better for me. The first seat cushion I bought was thicker with memory foam over regular foam but the thickness of it caused a spot where the cushion hit the back of my thigh in an uncomfortable way, and it only slightly helped the pain issue I'd bought it for. This seat cushion is just soft and tapered where the leg comes to the edge so there's no pressure there, but it does relieve the tailbone pressure. For me it seems to be the perfect recipe - I've had no tailbone/hip/malalignment post-driving pain since I started using this cushion. I've tested it out on a long trip both ways - very happy to have my attention on my audiobook again instead of my behind!

This is my second one (more on that at the end of the review).I bought my first years ago and as a PC gamer with sciatica who gets pain in their glutes, this has made a tremendous difference. I take it with me to the DR table...it just feels so much better to sit on. I can sit for a long time with no related pain; I was not able to do so before.The reason this is my second is because my mother made me a cover for it so she took apart the old cover for a pattern. Eventually it got dirty underneath because the fabric I used is thin so I tried to wash it by hand. Big mistake it tore in half. The cover it comes with is not thin though so no worries.

As I was preparing to write this review, I noticed the product is now out of stock and Amazon isn't sure if they'll get more. That's really too bad since I've found it to be a great value for a seat cushion. First, a little background on me--I have multiple physical issues that limit how long I can sit without pain. Foremost among these is I'm getting ready to have my first Total Hip Replacement (THR), so the hip pain is my biggest obstacle. Since buying this cushion, it's extended my ability to sit by about an hour, which is nice for me since I'm limited to 2-3 hours with my regular office chair seat. I also experience lower back pain due to a pinched nerve and I've noticed that since using this cushion, I haven't had any flare ups with this nerve.

I really love this little pillow, except for every time I take the cover off to launder it, the zipper gets stuck, and I spend hours trying to fix it!
