ADATA EC700G, M.2 PCIe/SATA SSD Enclosure

High quality precision machined aluminum enclosure. Nice finish. Tastefully done RGB. NVMe interface works like a charm. Compatible with Windows, Linux, and mac. Easy tool-less design. Fast USB-C and USB-A. I have tried a few enclosures lately, and this one is the best bang for the buck. Looks cool. I highly recommend it. TLDR: High quality fit and finish. Best in class. Made in Taiwan.

Absolutely love this small guy! I use my M2 Samsung 980 Pro 1TB disk with this enclosure. Works perfectly, reading speed is about 900Mbps and writing - around 750, I guess that’s pretty enough as for external storage. P.S. make sure you are using a exFAT disk format if you want to have maximum compatibility (I use it as cross platform storage, windows and mac).

I used this to clone a laptop m.2 2280 NVME drive to a larger one, and a Chromebox 2242 m.2 SATA drive to a larger one. In both cases the cloning process with Clonezille was lightning fast and flawless. I've never been impressed with USB speeds, but thing has changed my opinion completely. One problem though, and the idiot is I, not the enclosure... To open, you depress a latch, and slide off the top. The first time was a bit touch.. The mounting screw has a groove into which you slide the half circle of your drive. I made the mistake of mounting the screw on top of the drive, which raises it. This makes the latch more diffficuptnto close, but MUCH more difficult to open... When I finally realized what an idiot I was and corrected it, it made the enclosure easy to close and open. Anyway, I'm happy I bought this. it's a great product.

The enclosure and the drive that was in it survived the wash and dry. Definitely scuffed from the ordeal, but heck it still plugs in, lights up and transfers data without connectivity issues. So I'd rate it as durable.

Overall, warms up less than other enclosures and feels very well built. The screw used is also very convenient for installation and connection is not spotty at all. Good quality.

The enclosure seems very secure. And it doesn't overheat. I've seen several comments that the casing heats up over time. But for me it doesn't and i would definitely get another for a gift to a friend who is always swapping nvme ssd's on the go. I needed one because of the speed, storage capacity, compatibility with other ssds. i store a lot of big files and needed something remote and with speed, is what we need and this encasing handles it very well without turning off nor over heating. ADATA did and excellent job in manufacturing this. Specially the RGB gives a vibrant and mesmerizing color.

This took about 6 minutes to get ready from receiving the box, to having the m.2 device installed and working. It will only be recognized by USB C or USB 3 connections - if you have neither, move along and don't buy it. Both USB cord styles are included. Its well made, slim and portable. Good use for a backup device, extra storage, or portable storage for game day.

Easy to use and works great. I find the RGB led's a bit much, the unit is well made, as expected from Adata.
