Held up for a year now.
So, I have had this for a year at the time of this review. I bought this to try out my acoustic skills. I have since reverted to be an adolescent again and customized it.. (last pic) i have an electric guitar, but this is my first acoustic. I bought inexpensive in case it wasn't for me, but from a name brand.. The action was decent out of the box (playable). I believe I adjusted the trust rod to get it a bit lower. This is a bright sounding guitar and is very light in weight. The gig bag is pretty good, actually. It's a great value for what you get. It's a great beginner rig. Stays in tune pretty well. Looks good also. Full-size cutaway guitar. If you're a beginner, you should probably change the strings out for some 10s or a lighter string than 12 gauge. Your fingers will thank me later. Bottom line.. It's worth having.

Amazing guitar
Needed a beater guitar that I could take around and leave it in my car and stuff and not worry about it. This guitar surprised me! It sounds great and pretty good started guitar too. It doesn’t keep tune long but what do you expect.

A very very nice guitar!
I ordered this while I was on travel for business, just to have a beater instrument to play in the evenings. I've played guitar for several decades and have a nice stable of instruments at home. I have other Donner guitar-related products (pedals etc.) at home and have always been happy with their gear. It's decent quality gear at a good price. This "beginner kit" seemed like it would fit my needs - it has not only the guitar, but bag, strap, capo, picks, tuner, spare strings, allen wrench for adjusting neck relief, and polishing cloth. The guitar is very very nice! Best I can tell, the top is not laminate, but is solid wood (specs say it's sitka spruce, and I could believe that). Sides and back may be laminate, but I don't think so. Fit and finish on the joinery and inner bracing look really good. Fret ends are nicely smooth and polished. The guitar was nicely packed and padded and was in great shape when I unboxed it. Strings were fairly slack (which is how a guitar is supposed to be shipped). I tuned it up and stretched the strings and the tuning has been rock-solid ever since, going on 36 hours of ownership, now. The neck relief needed a little bit of adjustment. The nut slots had the strings sitting a little high off the first fret, not terribly surprising given that it's a $150 mass produced guitar, but not at all a dealbreaker, either. The bridge is compensated and sits a little high, lending a slightly high action for the instrument. When I go to change the strings, it's easy enough to pull out the bridge and sand it down on the underside to lower the action by about half a millimeter...that's a 20 minute job.And...it sounds and plays really really well. It sounds like a dreadnought! Plenty of low end, projecting midrange, easy fretting with no buzzing. This instrument is a steal for what I paid for it.The extra bits are hit or miss, generally OK.- gig bag is not very padded, but it covers the instrument and provides some protection.- strap, picks, polishing cloth are nothing special - they get you up and running as soon as you unbox, but you'll probably want to get better picks and strap.- I can't comment on the extra strings; I haven't used them yet. They're 11-gauge (light acoustic). I'm sure they're fine, I assume they're the same ones that came on the guitar, which are perfectly serviceable.- the tuner was non-functional, but it wasn't a big deal...I have a tuner app on my phone...so no big lossOverall, five stars for the guitar. The guitar, and the overall kit, is perfect for a beginner...or really any player. I consider myself an advanced player and I just wanted an inexpensive instrument to play while on business travel. I wasn't expecting boutique quality; but this is a very playable instrument that's a steal for what I paid for it.If I had a suggestion, maybe it would be to leave out some of the extra bits (tuner, strings, strap) and upgrade the gig bag.

an AMAZING guitar for beginners and is extremely high quality!
I have been playing the guitar for a few years but I have always used a really low quality guitar that I did not pay too much for. I decided to pull the trigger and buy this guitar and I can gladly say there are no regrets. The string and acoustic quality is amazing and the quality of my playing increased instantly! I was genuinely extremely impressed by how good the sound quality was due to the very fair price. The guitar also comes cut which is wonderful for hitting those higher frets as well.Aside from sound, the aesthetics of the guitar are extremely pleasing as well. The quality of the wood is very nice and it looks like the guitar you would see in movies! Definitely looks really good. The neck is also the perfect size for me to be able to have my wrist around it and have a solid grip. The guitar also comes with a ton of extra add ons! It came with a really nice capo, microfiber cloth, extra strings (SUPER convenient ive broken strings a few times), a pick guard, picks, and a tuner. All in all, a really great product and I would definitely spend the full retail price on this. I fully expect this product to last me a very long time and I am extremely satisfied. 10/10 :D
