I like it. Alot.
the heating element on our Crock-Pot brand slow cooker became erratic after the first year and took either way too quickly or way too slow. Either way it was really pretty bad. I looked around for other crock pots and noticed that a lot of reviewers were talking about Lead content in the ceramic. so before I wasn't going to buy a new slow slow cooker I wanted to make sure it was it least relatively safe. I researched about 6 or 7 websites and came up with the conclusion that unless I tested it myself I probably wasn't going to know for sure if it was entirely safe or if in fact this entire concerned about Lead was way overdone in the first place. While I was still researching I noticed this particular brand which I had never heard of before. they advertise no LEAD in the product. Well that was a check mark for me because I could stop worrying at least about one factor. but what about all the other factors? Again my heating element went Bonkers after about a year. But with only a few reviews on this unit I could not tell much about this unit. So I can't have a clue if this element will hold up or not.I do know that I really like the look of this unit on my dark brown granite countertop. It just looks cool without looking too cool. But all that doesn't matter unless it works right. So today for the first time I fired it up. I started making a stew around 10 a.m. and filled it half way and it was completely finished about quarter after 2 p.m. Just over 4 hours seem very reasonable to me. Now I must admit what I make a stew I just kind of throw things together and so never really repeat the same recipe twice and I have no idea if this was just dumb luck or not, but...the stew I made today blended better -by far - then any stew I can remember in the last four or five years! The Taste was absolutely superb. I can't really believe that this unit made me a better chef, though I will still hope it might have.I believe somebody made a comment about it being relatively easy to clean and I certainly discounted that comment pretty much entirely. Well, I have to tell you that I was pretty well shocked how easy this is to clean. I had left tomato, onion and potato stains on the unit for about an hour after it cooled down. In my old crock pot this would have meant hours of misery. So I read the instruction book and used only soap and warm water and a nice little sponge and started to rub it down. I have to say I was kind of flabbergasted that it just came off. I ran over to show a family member because I couldn't believe it and neither could she. in 40 seconds it went from total mess with baked on Grom to looking like it did when it was shipped. I like the fact that there is not the paint on the stoneware but that is it is natural. I don't know if that's the reason it was easier to clean because the painted product technically should have be easier to clean. But in fact I found the results actually the opposite and I must say that so far this is the best feature, if you can call it a feature at all. Since time and energy matter to me, I'm quite pleased.I believe someone mentioned the unit was wobbly because it only stood on three legs. This is true and I thought it would be a major problem. But it doesn't seem to be an issue, especially when there is food inside of it. Still something to be cautious about for the future but it didn't really seem to play today at all, which is good.So here I give this.Appearance 9Cooking time 9Ease of cleaning 10Taste of recipes 10

Super Natural, Super handy Easy to use crock pot
Actually when I got this crock pot I jumped for JOY. It’s my life saver, I am working all day returning for 2 hour at lunch time and this slow cocker is a life saver for meSet up early afternoon let it cook for 3-4 Hours than going outside doing some shopping and other things, while I am return the whole house is smelling from fresh cocked dinner. Also sometimes We entertain a lot and host a lot of family functions, and to warm up all the time for everyone is not easy SO I just love this slow cocker, I plug it in with my delicious buffet and keeps hot during my party timeand having just one crock pot never quite seemed to do the trick. So I am considering to buy the larger one from Chefman the 7Qt. so will use it for party time, while I am still enjoying the 5 qt. for my daily family use. I can also prepare quite a large meal in the 7 quart crock pot, which is why I've also used this one as my new go-to for meal prep when I want to freeze more than one meal. For our family of 4, I can usually prepare and freeze a couple full family meals at a time when I use this crock pot.I love the simple 3 temperature dial settings so it take a few second to set it up and its ready to go, no need for any programing. So it’s so easy to useAnd I am so amazing since it’s all Natural and Glaze-Free, Chemical-Free stoneware, I would definitely recommend this slow cooker! Multi-function with sleek finish, great price point and crock pot meals are the best! And don’t forget about the Club Chefman they offering I got a password to the site and got amazing Recipes, Videos, just loving Chefman!!!!

Awsome non-stick, unglazed clay Insert!
Love this crock pot!!!!! I owned a crock pot from a well known company for over 20+ years which was given to me as a gift back then. I was always concerned about the glazed stoneware insert having lead in it or not since it was made in China, and we all know that most products from there contain lead one way or the other.I tried it out shortly after I received it. After I read the do's and don'ts, I made a white bean stew with onions, potatoes and tomatoes, and tomato juice; cooked it for 5 h on low. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to clean the clay insert( hand wash), as it did not stained or had a " ring" like some food leave behind. An other time I use a breakfast -casserole recipe to be cooked in the crock pot. Wanted to see how starchy food ( hash browns) and cheese will work in it. Not only did it came out fantastic( without any strange after taste), it cleaned very well ( this time in the dish washer, bottom rack). I like the oval shape and it seems it is a tad deeper then most inserts, making it perfect for a roast beef and you can brown in it on the stove (according to the instructions) before placing it in the base for slow cooking or using it in the oven as a dutch oven( without the lid, because the plastic handle could melt).Since I did not tried it yet, I can't give any information how this worked out.The lid is made of glass, which I really like. My old one had a plastic lid, which the handle broke off in the middle years ago after the warranty expired ( I used a pot lid instead for many years). Bottom line, I overall recommend this product.

It's a Nice crock and best pot
This Chefman slow cooker has very quickly become a regularly used item in my kitchen. It is actually a very nice size for cooking for my family. It could easily cook a meal for a family of 6 or more very nice look, and looks very sleek and not cheap at all. The inside pot comes out and is very easy to soak, clean, and even put in the dishwasher. Even when on all day, I am not worried about leaving it running while I am not home as the outside doesn't get hot. Overall I really like this product and would recommend to family and friends.

Great little cooker at a reasonable price
Have only used this once so far, but we had a lovely stew. I like the fact you can saute the meat on the top of the stove and then use it to slow cook. I did however send a question which I have not received the answer to. I like to keep my recipes and you have a recipe section. How can I save my own recipes there. I am a Celiac therefore always trying to find ways to cook gluten free.

Bare bones but good enough
I've been using my 5qt. slow cooker for about 5 to 6 months, without any trouble. However, there are some things to be aware of. It's pretty bare bones. There's no light to indicate that it's on, which for me, is significant because I have two little grandchildren who are tall enough to reach up to the counter and could get burned from the hot exterior. There's no timer. That's not the end of the world for me but I would have paid more for a timer so that I can leave the house for the day, leaving the food to cook on it's own. There's no gasket around the rim of the lid, which would have been a deal-breaker for me if I'd remembered to check before making my purchase. A gasket would have been so much better and I believe would have sped the cooking time along a little. So far I have only used my slow cooker for cooking beans, which I do approximately once a week. The liner is badly stained but I don't have a problem with that. I don't see how it could be helped. But it's something to keep in mind for someone who is particular about that. One thing I'm really displeased about is that I paid $39.99 for my 5qt. I just checked and six months later it's now available for half that -- $19.99. I'm somewhat considering purchasing the 7qt. (at the time of this writing it's $29.99) because when I want to cook a large volume of beans for freezing I find that the 5qt. just isn't large enough but I'm not sure as the short-comings tend to out-weigh the positives.

Awesome all natural slow cooker
This slow cooker works awesome. Love the fact that the cookware is all natural & overtime will not emit nasty chemicals like other slow cookers made of metal. Price was also great

Nice innovation for a classic product
What could be good in a classic slow cooker? well, here you have the answer...The crock is unpolished and uncoated. it gives it a antique look (reminds me of a brick oven...) and it is surely healthier than the chemical coated classical peers. Its three uses (stovetop, baking and cooking) makes it a really good buy
