Great little glue gun - but didn’t include glue sticks and the packaging was needlessly frustrating!
The media could not be loaded. I’ll divide this review into two parts: first the product itself. This is a brilliant little tool. I have a corded glue gun but it’s always awkward to use it, with the big thick mains cable hanging off it and having to do the job within each of a plug. To have a cordless version is just so ‘freeing’ - you can work anywhere and the thing is so light, because it’s not being pulled down by the thick cable. Of course, that means you have to charge it up first, using the enclosed USB cable. The controls are simple: you press the on button for several seconds and it turns on, with the green light flashing. The flashing light means it is heating up but, in well under a minute, the light goes solid green and the thing is ready to use, once you’ve put a glue stick in the back. Pull the trigger and the hot glue runs out the nozzle at a reasonable pace, let the trigger go and it stops. Press the button for several seconds again to run it off. It is really great! So why only four stars - because the whole way it was packaged and presented just really annoyed me. First of all the plastic blister packaging - it was almost impossible to open; I tried scissors, then big kitchen scissors, finally I had to use a sharp kitchen knife to work my way through the thick plastic - really unnecessarily difficult to unpack. And then the whole packaging is just waste to be thrown away, leaving the glue gun without any kind of container or organiser - I’d have much preferred the glue gun to come in some kind of box or pack that you could open easily and then reuse to store the thing. Also, I thought the picture of a glue stick with the number 07 next to it on the pack meant it contained 7 glue sticks - but no! It means it tasted size 07 sticks. There isn’t even one sample glue stick in the pack - which is pretty unhelpful if you open it up and want to use it straight away. Plus, the way the instructions booklet is stuffed into the blister pack, it i us all bent in half so when you take it out it’s folded double and you can’t open it to read it properly. Grrr!Brilliant product, Rapid. Please rethink the packaging and presentation - it’s hardly user-friendly!

Takes 7mm glue sticks of which none are supplied
Good glue gun, this heats quickly and maintains the heat evenly. This gun in particular takes 7mm glue sticks (I didn’t know these come in different sizes so do check before ordering more glue sticks), it’s a shame that it doesn’t come with any glue sticks at all which would have been useful to get going straight away. The gun itself can be used completely cordless and is rechargeable via micro USB, a cable and 3 pin mains adapter are supplied. A recharge takes a few hours and the total run time you get i would say is around half an hour or less and for safety, the gun cannot be used while charging. There is a handy little foldaway stand for standing the gun up when not in use but i would have liked to have seen a hanging loop or a storage bag, the latter of which would be ideal to keep everything plus some spare glue sticks together. The hot glue doesn’t drip like some glue guns can so I am pleased with this. I have previously paid about £5 for a budget glue gun, this performs about the same and admittedly apart from the cordless and rechargeable feature it isn’t enough for me to pay the current offer price of £39.99 (the usual RRP is around £50). A good product overall but would have to be much better on value and come with some glue and possibly a storage bag in order for me to recommend it.

Better than others...
The media could not be loaded. Really is a decent glue gun.I love how you can use it workout a lead always getting in the way of what your doing.Really lightweight glue gin.Comes with the charger plug and USB lead. Just make sure you charge it for a time before you first use it.It heats up fast. And has a lithium battery so works better than other battery operated glue guns. The only down fall with this item is it doesn't come with any glue sticks, and for the price tag of £25 I would want at least a few included. It has very comfortable grip, so doesn't hurt your hand when holding and pressing the button. This has an automatic sleep mode built unto it.If this charged fully. The battery last for about 30 mins maximum. A full charge takes just under 3 hours.

An Excellent Cordless Glue Gun That Ticks all the Boxes.
I've used hot melt glue guns for years both in the home and in education as a teacher. This is one of the better glue guns I have encountered simply because it is cordless. This makes things so much easier as you are not tied to a power outlet. The Rapid BGX7 is well designed and functions well. You just switch it on and seconds later the green light indicates that the glue is hot and ready to apply.I like the fact that you can stand it up so it is ready for use as and when you want.A full charge lasts 30 minutes so well enough for most jobs and the classroom.Charge is via a USB charger.I am impressed with this glue gun.

No glue sticks supplied to get you going
Several things put me off this glue gun. It come packed in hard plastic retail pack, which needs knife and scissors to open with the ever present risk if cutting yourself. Secondly it's micro-USB powered and a USB power pack for UK 3-pin sockets is included, very wasteful of resources. My last gripe on opening is there are no sample glue sticks included so be aware of that if buying. Also there's no hook in the body to hang this up for storage. Also note that you can't get extended use by keeping this plugged into USB; it automatically starts charging and switches off heating. There's a multi lingual instruction book included, operation is pretty simple and it does heat up quite quickly. In the hand, it's comfortable to use and the flip-out stand is quite handy keeping the tool upright.Gluing was fine for the crafting tasks I tried. Price seems to be similar to similar products so can't claim great value for money.
