Coldplay: Mylo Xyloto, Piano/Vocal/Guitar Paperback – Import, 1 January 2012

Love this book, the pieces have great arrangements. The pieces may be a bit difficult for beginners so I would suggest that you are intermediate to advantaged to take this book on.

Being an enormous Coldplay fan, and a long-time pianist, I had to buy this music book. From what I've played so far, both the notes and the lyrics seem true to the actual songs, as I have had contemporary books where they have messed up on both (most likely due to them not being official books, which I cannot be sure this one is either). I have played for almost 5 years (with a hiatus this past year) and I still have a slight stumbling in some of the more challenging songs like "Hurts Like Heaven" with its upbeat tempo, and "Paradise" with its heavy bass influence. I would rate this book as Intermediate level, not easy and not difficult, due to there being a variety of note-intensities depending on which song you're playing. Unfortunately, I do not play guitar, so I cannot verify the guitar chords, but they are included throughout and I would go so far as to trust them. Overall, the book arrived quickly, in excellent condition, and I would recommend this book if you are a fan and have been pondering the idea.

As a pianist who learned to Grade 5 level (although a few years without playing means I'm probably somewhat below that now) I have found the pieces I have learned so far (Paradise, Us Against the World and Charlie Brown) to range between relatively simple to slightly above medium difficulty. (The fingering during the introduction to Paradise can be a little tricky at one point).Even from playing through for the first time the music is unmistakable and, if you are familiar with the music itself, it becomes relatively easy to fit the melody and rhythm to the notes on the page.Another member of my family has the Guiter Tab version of this book and in terms of matching up musically, of the couple of pieces we tried one seemed to match quite well (Paradise) and another seemed to be in a different key (Us Against the World).If you are a Coldplay fan who wants to learn the familiar songs on piano then I would recommend this book.

Dieses Notenheft ist super für alle, die Klavier oder Gitarre spielen und dieses Album lieben. Natürlich stehen auch die Texte für Sänger und Sängerinnen dabei. Allerdings sind diese Stücke nicht gerade einfach, aber der Aufwand lohnt sich.

Kindle edition is so low res you can barely read it on the ipad.
