First off, the connecting cable is extremely short. I bought this for my tower computer and it can barely sit on top of it. the feet hangover. I read the description of the product. It said you would need to download an app to run it. I was fine with that. But the thing is that none of the apps can play a blu-ray. You have to then download a key and ASCC library and install those on your system. Which I did. The player will read the disc but when you try to play it after all of this it still will not play. The player came set to region 2 and even that took some time to get it changed to region 1. I had to put in a DVD for that. I got this for blu-rays. After a week of trying to get this to work, Amazon wants me to contact the seller and wait days on them before I can return this. I can not stress enough how dissatisfied I am.Update- I was contacted by the seller and they gave me a link to a player to download, one I had already tried, went through the process again and it still would not play a Blu-ray disc. I thank them for trying. But I still had to return the drive.

This item is not worth buying. It does not read BlueRay discs properly, it recognizes them, but has issues accessing them, to make things worse, the DVD read speed is too slow to play movies.Stay away from this piece of garbage.
