It works great! The best part of this process is that after trimming the shield, it does not matter how long your wires are. Once the crimper is activated, the wires get trimmed at the outside edge of the connector. This provides a reliable and secure connection every time. **Q: Mine didn’t come in original package but instead each item was bubble wrapped and the connectors were in a zip lock. Is that normal?** A: Mine just arrived, says shipped and sold by Amazon, and came in the storage bag with each piece wrapped in bubble wrap as well. No real original packaging aside from the manual/pamphlet for the tester included in the bubble wrap with that one. **Q: How long of a cable can the tester handle** A: I know I have used it on 100' length. the tester is really easy to use. It will tell the result of the cable and not go through a test of all wires like some you need to watch. Good, miss-wire, open and short. It shows the result very quickly and accurately. I am very satisfied with my purchase. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ease and consistency *by K***0 on 7 March 2023* Needed a new crimper after my old one started to miss pins. Thought I'd give the passthrough crimpers a go. They work really well, less trimming and more consistent terminations since you can push the pairs in to the depth you want. Only thing I wish it had is a standard crimp for those times you run out of the passthrough ends or are in a pinch and only have regular rj45 connectors. You can sort of crimp the non-passthroughs, but you have to really finesse it. The cable tester is nothing fancy, but it works as you'd expect.
