Fire-Maple 7.6 Inch Camping Frying Pan Portable Nonstick Camping Skillet

All you need to know is I took this on the Appalachian trail and it performed flawlessly. It allowed me to bring a few things I normally don’t and cook them flawlessly. Solid no stick and easy clean. I used on an ultra light stove set up and it looks like it was never used. It will last a long time for sure. I highly recommend this for durability, weighs nothing, performs flawlessly.

A very nice backpacking skillet, a little heavier aluminum but still lightweight. Folding handle and nonstick cooking area. Hard anodized exterior. Just large enough to stack well with other cook sets.

I purchased this for a backpacking trip in the Sierra's. It is lightweight enough to justify carrying in your kit, even for those who err toward a lighter base weight of packing. There are more expensive, slightly lighter models on the market, but the price point and quality for this were a fine trade off. We used this on a standard jetboil stove to cook fresh caught trout from the upper lakes and it worked perfectly. Used real butter, and did not stick at all. Due to the limitations of adjusting the flame on jetboils, we had to occasionally lift the pan from the stove to moderate the heat coming up to avoid overcooking/burning, but that has nothing to do with the product itself. Used an old balsawood spatula I've had for a million years in my backpacking kit, so no issues with scratching. It seems durable enough to withstand harder utensils, but that's not how we used it so can't comment. Overall, would highly recommend given the tradeoffs I mention above.

Good pan nice size easy to take with me lightweight good to use. However, it is a lot to be desired with the nonstick. It says it’s nonstick but even with a ton of butter it’s not so nonstick definitely plan on keeping an eye on it low temperature so you don’t see her too much. Otherwise it’s not a bad pan if you can keep an eye on it.

I was looking for a good pan for camping. I tried several brands but nothing convinced me. Then someone recommended the fire maple brand. I received it really fast and in excellent condition. Of course I had to test it right away in my home kitchen first. It performs very well. Heats Up fast and Transfers the heat evenly. It has the perfect height and balance. Stays on the gas burner nicely without sliding off like others I had. Even with high heat it doesn't warp. Handle gets a little warm but it's manageable. Nothing sticks and cleaning is very easy. I have to say it exceeded my expectations. Price is reasonable and I can see using this for years to come. Very well made and excellent product. I highly recommend!!!

Finally! After a couple years of trying to cook pancakes, eggs, quesadillas, etc on other backpacking pans with poor results (using more oil than I’d like, burned centers with raw edges, horribly messy pan to soak/scrap/clean), I finally caved and looked into a backpacking non-stick pan. Most are terribly expensive, so I was happy to find this one at a more reasonable price. After successfully making yummy blueberry pancakes and over easy eggs on my last kayak camping trip I’m so happy to have purchased this pan! Perfectly cooked breakfast and the clean up was a breeze! I then took this pan on a two week car camping trip in Canada. I was way rougher on this pan than I should have been, and it got beat on pretty hard while loading and unloading my trunk and cooking gear at multiple locations. However, it took it well! No dents, warps, and the handle is still as sturdy as ever. HIGHLY recommend!

No brainer, if you cook at all while camping you need this pan in your kit. Bought it last year and have used it dozens of times since. Lightweight and easy to pack but honestly would still bring it if it didn't fold up and weighed as much as a cast iron just because of how truly nonstick it is. Cooks eggs perfect every time with little to no oil needed (which is helpful if you forget to pack it, like me). Only complaint is that I didn't have a bigger/second one while making pancakes this weekend!

Went on a weekend camping trip with a few friends and wanted something a little nicer than the traditional aluminum compact cooking set (you know the one everyone has as thier first set). This pan did not disappoint! It heats up super fast and even. Nothing sticks to it which makes cleanup super easy. I used it for 3 meals a day on a 4 day trip with no issues. The handle stays nice and cool even when you accidentally have the burner on high for almost 5 minutes and the pan itself is hot enough to instantly evaporate cold water. The nonstick surface is also very durable. There were a couple times I needed to use a metal ustensil on it and the surface didn't scratch. I'm very happy to have this as my main cooking pan for my future camping trips.

I really like this pan. The non stick is excellent (although some people seem to think you should be able to cremate your food without any consequences). Fried eggs and tricky proteins like white fish cook perfectly but of course you still have to manage the heat of your camp stove. If you've used appropriate heat, it cleans up very easily (often with just a wipe with a paper towel). It's made of good, quite thick aluminium which conducts heat evenly and reduces the tendency to get a small hot spot in the centre of the pan (although you'll still have to manage the heat if you're using a small stove like a pocket rocket). Not the lightest but still a very reasonable weight and I'd trade a few grams for reliable cooking performance and durability.
