TablecraftNutcracker and Pick Set , 1

I grew up in New England and we enjoyed boiled lobster. My parents had picks they used when having boiled lobster. I had been trying to find a set of picks when I found these and was thrilled. I much prefer the picks to the small forks a lot of sets come with. The crackers used for cracking the shell of a lobster can also be used for cracking the shells of nuts and the picks can be used to help get the pieces of nut out of the shell after it is opened.

I use this mainly for getting into the crevices of lobster and crab curries! It is an invaluable gadget. I had a set for over 20 years when my husband accidently threw the last one in the trash along with the remnants of the lobster! I was so pleased that this is still available and no different from my very old one!

This nut cracker set did what I needed it to but if much thinner than they used to be. There is a small metal piece that works like a hinge and you have to watch because it will work it's way out. If you don't keep pushing it back in, it will fall out, then the nut cracker will fall apart. All in all, I don't regret the purchase. It worked for what I needed it for but just had to be a bit more observant when using them.

Loved this product for it works just like the old ones.

They are not sturdy, not able to crack a walnut. The nuts are not big. But the nutcracker doesn't give enough space to use it even on a small nut. The nutcracker needs to be longer. It just doesn't get it. Does anyone know what else they can be used for?

This nutcracker is really bad. It won’t even crack an almond open! I look forward to mixed nuts all year but we moved the end of last year. I couldn’t find my nutcracker set anywhere! It’s probably still in a box somewhere or something but after searching everywhere for it, I said never mind it’ll turn up. So I decided to buy this one until it did. Doesn’t hurt to have 2 nutcrackers! I’m including a pic of the best it could do as well as the fundamental flaw it has that makes it impossible for it to ever work. The legs are crooked (they cross over each other) & the metal connector at the top is very flimsy. When you try to squeeze the nut, it goes diagonal 🙄. Oh & for credentials, I mean there isn’t like a nutcracking college or anything but if there were, I think I’d have a PhD 😆. I can crack Brazil nuts flawlessly with my original nutcracker! No one ever eats those bc they’re really hard to get out of the shell without turning them into powder - if you know you know 😉
