I had mixed emotions about purchasing this cover based on the reviews. Right off the bat I will say that I am happy with the case and think it is going to work very well on my GS4.The good:* When closed it provides pretty good protection. Covers the front very well but dropping onto an edge will probably still kill the phone.* This is going to work well for pocket storage, no butt-dialing with this cover!* The S view window is VERY nice. When closed it switches to a date/time/status display. When opened it immediately goes active, in my case to the login screen. I have recieved calls with the case closed and had no problems in swiping the window to take the call. The sound heard by both the caller and callee was good. When placing an outbound call you can switch between open and close repeatedly without interrupting the call.* The construction is of good quality. The inside of the case facing the screen has a good, almost felt-like texture that should protect the screen nicely. However, I decided to overlay a Tech Armor anti-glare/anti-fingerprint screen protector anyway which I still think was a very good idea.* The cover does not change the size of the phone significantly. It makes it perhaps 1/16" thicker when closed, with a bit of width increase due to the hing. I am still using the belt holster that I used with my GS3 with no problems fitting it in.* The cover folds all the way around to the back almost completely (but not totally) flat. Laying it on the table folded will have a slight tilt to the right but not troublesome. I actually find the phone easier to hold with the cover flipped. With the display of the GS4 coming so close to the edge it is easy to accidently touch the screen while trying to hold a naked phone, but the folded cover actually provided a pretty nice extra grip so fingers are not lurking near icons or screen area.* Camera - I wondered about that and found that the S view window almost, but not quite, gives a clear view for the rear camera lense. Two things that I found. First, by scrunching the folded cover up just a little (about 1/4") I could take pictures through the window with no problem. I have not done a bunch of quality testing to see how the plastic in the window affects picture quality, but it is inside the focus of the camera and the few pictures that I took (with and without flash) were adequate. I also found that folding the cover at 1/4 open position, 90 degrees up, actually makes a pretty nice handle to hold the phone. With my old GS3 I found several times that while trying to hold the camera my fingers were hitting things on the screen, but so far this has worked out well with this cover.The not so good:* The is no magnet or anything to keep the cover closed. At the moment if I lay the phone flat and close the cover it stays open a bit. I am wondering if this will change as the cover ages and get broken in. This is not a deal breaker to me as the screen will shut off in about the same amount of time with the cover open or closed when layed down, but it did preclude a 5 star rating. I was thinking of taking a hair dryer to it and see if with a judicious heating if perhaps it will encourge the closed position to be a little more certain.* Attaching to the phone - The cover replaces the back cover and is certainly a snug fit!!! This sucker is not going to fall off. It was a bit of a challenge to get it snapped into place the first time. HINT: The tabs at the bottom by the charger MUST be inserted first, then gently snap the case on from bottom to top along the sides.For the $10 is cost, I think it is a heck of a deal. I really like the off/on function so I do not have to mash any button to power up, just flip it open and it is ready to go. All this being said, if I had found the reference before I ordered (and recieved) this one I would probably have purchased the IQ View S4 Wireless Charging interactive Quick View Flip Cover by MonsterWatts. It is more money ($32) but not only provides the flip cover but has the Qi wireless charger coil built in. I have not seen one but allegedly it is the same thickness. I did notice in the demo video that it appears to suffer the same issue as the Samsung version where the cover does not want to stay completely closed when laid flat and you can see the demo finger press and hold it in the video.

I bought this at the same time I bought my Galaxy S-4. My husband and I had read spectacular reviews on the Samsung site, and figured that since we were ordering our phones on Amazon, we might as well purchase the accessories as well - so we bought two, one for each of us.My first gripe is that the item took so long to be delivered, and then we didn't even receive one of the cases at all (which was handled and refunded very graciously by the seller). It took three weeks, as we didn't initially realize it was being shipped from China, so that was kind of a bummer, but easy to overlook. We were disappointed to receive only one, which my husband let me keep, and he just got an Otterbox instead (my Otterbox is actually on it's way to me right now to replace this case).The description led us to believe that this was an OEM Samsung product, and while it appears to be, with all of the correct logos and matching design, I really don't think that it is. It's shoddily made - the plastic on the back part of the cover has already lost a chunk, and the borders of the case are starting to peel and crack - and it's been a little less than a month since I've had it. My phone goes through no major excitement during the day - it sits on my desk at work, then in my purse during transit in it's own special cell phone pocket, and then on my bedside table at night. Nothing has happened that would warrant the damage we've experienced thus far.The seller was good to deal with, very prompt and kind, but I'd not recommend this to anyone.

Bought this to turn s4 into a "flip phone" for aging parents to use. They like being able to flip on/off the phone.The case looks nice and fits well and will show the date/time as shown on the images when the case is closed.But the major flaw is that there is nothing keeping the cover from opening on its own. If you just tilt the phone in an angle, the flip cover and open up and turns on the phone. There does not seem to be a magnet to hold down the cover.There is probably some sort of magnet in the case for activating the time/date on closed. But it does not hold the cover down. And the case covers up the volume button, it'd be nice to have some marking indicators for the volume button since you can still press them. Will likely return it.

I didn't realize when I ordered this that the back of this case actually replaces the back of the phone. I like that it doesnt add bulk and the flip protects the screen. I'm not sure that long term it will be very protective, but it looks good for now and it isn't expensive.

This is the genuine Samsung case (from Simple Cell, Inc CA). I love the feel, fit and finish - it is a super low profile flip cover with a bit of texture on the outside of the cover and the window is quite handy. I wouldn't count on it for protection from and sort of drop, though - my main concern is protecting the screen from scratches while I have my phone in my pocket.

Según el anunciante la funda es nueva y eso parece.Sin embargo, el plástico que la cubre lo han despegadoy vuelto a pegar o es que no lo llevaba y han puesto uno...La caja la he recibido abierta rota sucia y llena de celofán , en un intento de arreglarlo...He estado 15 dias esperando para esto....Dudo ya si es la funda original de Samsung y ya veremos cómo funciona.

This is a very nice looking case. But I don't know what I was thinking when I bought it in White. Buy this and carry it around with you for a while and you'll know exactly what I mean. It can get dirty very quickly. I don't use it as much as I did when I first got it, but if you keep it clean you'll be fine.
