I can't stand traditional helping hands, so when I was looking for some for a soldering kit for traveling around a bit, these were perfect. I'm an audio engineer that often needs to solder on the go and often times, in awkward places, so these are perfect for me. They break down pretty nice and work really well when they're together. I love being able to clamp it down onto a table which makes it solid as a rock. Great purchase for on the go soldering!

Works great. Doesn't really hold position super solidly if you're only grabbing with one clamp, but that's rather picky and I Don think that should detract from it... It's just something you have to work around if you're using it like that. For example, I'm taking photos of a small flower and so I clamp it at the stem and position it how I like. When I let go, the position changes so I have to position it again to make up for the movement that's going to happen. Comes with additional clamps which was nice

Great item but need to use a wrench (supplied) to have hands attached firmly.

Well made and they even threw in an extra alligator clip.
