Accurate
This is a great thermometer. I use it for home brewing and it's very accurate. It has a great range of temperature and it's nice that it's got both the F and C feature. What's also nice about it is the metal prong is longer than most so it's good for sinking deeply into something to get a temp reading. Great product.

Simple, but good thermometer
I purchased this thermometer to monitor temperature of beakers on a hot plate. While I haven't exposed it to any aggressive chemicals, it has been easy to clean, read, and updates frequently. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if necessary.

"Okay" quality, convenient, good value; NOT heavily corrosion-resistant
A reasonable quality thermometer, its main feature being long enough to reach into deep thermometer wells.I was unimpressed with its performance when exposed to heavily corrosive vapor when distilling (nitric acid in this case). Nitric acid should be compatible with stainless steel at reasonably high temperatures, but after I spent a little while distilling nitric acid with the probe in direct contact with vapor, the end of the probe had become heavily corroded and started dripping brown liquid, so that was the end of that thermometer. I've since bought a second one.I wonder if there is a tiny opening or weakness at the end or something. Maybe the one I ruined had a defect. In any event I use glass thermometer wells for anything sketchy now. This should work fine for measuring head temperatures in direct contact with water and normal solvents.

Not very accurate
Seems to read about five degrees F higher than actual temperature.Tested with several other thermometers.
