Needed these for fixing celotex layers in loft conversion.Prices from external insulation products suppliers a rip off.These identical items far far cheaper, exactly the same and delivered next day !!!

I have been using these to fix some wood fibre based insulation panels. They seem to work well, they have a bit on the underside which protrudes into the insulation itself. I imagine this would be more troublesome with rigid insulation and would mean puncturing the foil face in rigid foil faced insulation (the other ones I used, from hawkeng, are flat on the bottom).They will also protrude by a few mm on top unless you are using a soft enough insulation board that they can get drawn in by the panel a little (e.g. wood fibre, rockwool etc would be fine).These do not indicate if they are flame retardant. Potentially relevant depending on what you are fixing.I like the fact that they have a built in cap to fix over the screw face..No breaks so far with standard plasterboard screws or stainless steel no 5 screws.

Bit dissappointed really. Brought these as they were next day delivery, rather than the ones I had purchased previously. When screwing them in they break, initially it was every second one, now I just don'ttighten them quite so much and if I'm careful/lucky they wont crack. However as I can't tighten them so much they are proud of the Celotex board, which is a bit of a pain if you're wanting to plasterboard over top. As mentioned I didn't have this issue with the previous ones I purhased, so no, I wouldn't buy again or recommend.PS. Great delivery though, next day as listed!!
