Saucy
You can't go wrong with the Muppets. This does feel a bit dated with some of the references, but still very funny. Some jokes are a bit on the saucier side compared to other Muppet movies, but nothing kids can't handle. This is better than Muppets From Space, but not as classic as The Muppet Movie or the Great Muppet Caper.

How did I not know this existed?
As a ravenous fan of both The Muppets and The Wizard of Oz, I don't know how I didn't know this existed. This is the weirdest, strangest, most AWESOME trip ever.

Worst Muppets Movie Ever
We love the Muppets in our house. Old Muppets, new Muppets, you name it, we love it. Except this movie. For our family movie night we gave our children (ages 8, 5, and 2) the option between a few movies to watch. The two older children voted for this movie so we went with it. Firstly, it shows a young Ashanti as Dorthy Gale but the entire movie she is showing her mid-drift off. While some might feel we're being picky about that but we are careful about what kind of message we send to our girls (8 & 5) about how a woman should dress or present themselves. We didn't appreciate the lack of clothes and heaving bust of Ashanti the whole movie. Our second complaint was that the Muppets right in the beginning made a reference to "Girls Gone Wild" and "how do they find these all American looking girls?" We weren't impressed. Next there were at least two, maybe three times in the movie where the characters said the word "sexy" or made a reference to "being hot." Again, not a message we want to teaching to our 8 and 5 year old girls. Near the end of the movie when then cast meet the Wizard for the first time the Wizard changes shape for each character. For Gonzo, or the TIN Thing, it shows itself as a scantily clad video-game-esque woman who acts aggressively sexy slowly changing its appearance to what Gonzo would find appealing, which is a big chicken. The chicken obviously isn't the part that is the problem, it's the scantily clad woman who using sexual body language to get Gonzo to do or say what she wants him to say. He then "blows a gasket" - which isn't too bad because a child wouldn't get the reference, but my husband pointed out to me that he wasn't very pleased seeing a male looking thermometer on Gonzo's chest go up until it exploded. Our last complaint is when Quinton Tarantino makes an appearance in the movie. He is shown pitching ideas to Kermit as a way to show the fight scene between the evil witch (Miss Piggy) and Dorthy (Ashanti). He pitches two very graphic, very violent fight scenes to Kermit which Kermit says is too much, then settling on the third pitch where Ashanti kicks Piggy in the face. The first two pitches include blood spilling out everywhere, body pieces being ripped, and vampires or morphing... it's overkill, and I don't think it really made sense in the movie.Overall we hated this movie. It is the biggest let down for Muppet movies ever. If we could take this movie and set it on fire we would. It was awful for adults, and even more inappropriate for children. I'm sorry we wasted $3.99 renting this movie.

Very funny
It's fairly close to the original story as far a wicked witches and bumps on the head go but Miss Piggy plays Dorothy in style on a motorbike - looking a bit like a fat Suzy Quattro riding to the Wagner tune the Ride of the Valkyries. This is what I saw on TV just as I was leaving my hotel and prompted me to buy the DVD.
