WORKS GREAT
I wanted an enclosure for a patio TV and knew I wanted gas struts for ease of opening and closing. I found these and had good reviews plus the price was right. For a 60+y/o doing this by yourself, building the cabinet, TV mount, and hinges was a bit challenging - again by myself. However after a couple of tests I found the perfect placement for functionality and am pleased with the outcome. The placement location will obviously vary with size and weight or your application. I found that less that 1/4 on the lid and more than 1/2 down on the sides worked great. 80lb might have been a little overkill but I always like to have it rather than need it. I need to finish the cabinet with a few more coats of stain and tweak a couple things but am very pleased. BUY IT!

20" - 150 Lb Gas Struts worked out fine for me.
The media could not be loaded. Raising the cargo bed of my 2009 Kawasaki Mule 4010 was impossible for me to do alone. I decided to try installing struts to see if they would help. After much Google searching for calculations, I learned that my application was going to rely heavily on guesswork. Luckily, I chose struts that worked out well, and the results are near perfect. I can now easily open and close the bed alone. I did have to flatten out the lower mounting brackets (see pic) to allow them to work in my application. The third support visible in the pic is not a gas strut, but it's the factory mounted support that held the bed in the open position before. The struts hold it open fine now, but I plan to continue to lock it open with the factory bracket for safety purposes while working on the engine. The cargo bed is quite heavy!

These are very good, but MAKE SURE you perform due dilligence.
These are very good struts. However, it is extremely important that you correctly determine what weight and length you need before you order. That cuts down on the frustration and you won't have to return them.I used these on the engine cover on a 17 foot Glastron boat and I chose the 100 lbs ones. They are actually almost too strong for my application.

Arana Struts are awesome
It was easy to install I did not know a 100 pound strut = 50 per strut Maybe I didn't read things right so I had to try several different pound struts. All and all the struts are awesome.

Wrong struts sent.
Ordered struts from ARANA for storage cabinet I have built. Lid weighs 93 pounds. Order was for a pair of 445N 20" struts. The vendor's description on Amazon specifically states they are for lids 85 to 110 pounds. I mounted them on the cabinet and lid. I am glad I had a safety strut in place when I released the lid because it came down very rapidly because they could not support the lid in any way, shape, or form.I began to check the order information, packaging, etc. to make sure I had not made an error. When I examined the shipping label on the plastic sleeve that contained the struts, I noticed the part description on the label had been altered. The load value 100 LB had been crossed out and the number 35 had been written above it in pen. No wonder the lid came down rapidly when I released it. I am assuming there was some kind of mix up during packaging somewhere during the process. Possibly the wrong label was put on the sleeve for a pair of 35 LB struts and it was manually corrected but the bar code was never updated. These struts are going back immediately for a refund. I will shop elsewhere for a proper pair of struts Be sure to read the label carefully if you purchased from ARANA.PS - If your life experience has taught you to be a skeptic like me your thoughts may be I did the overwrite.I can assure you T did not. It's so easy to return Amazon purchases it makes no sense to do so. Beside my printing has never been as good as what is on that label and now being in my mid 70's with arthritis in my fingers it's even worse.

Correct sizing is per strut not per pair.
The only problem is how to get the correct size of strut. I picked the one that was a combined weight of the two struts capable of lifting the door. Not the way to do it.... you want to select the weight of the door per strut. My Door is 88 lbs give or take a pound or two. I need the 80, 90, or 100 lbs struts, not the two 45 lbs struts that would be a combined weight equal or greater than the door. So 80 lbs struts would possibly work but not well. 90 lbs struts would be appropriate. 100 lbs struts would be a slightly heavier lift and could cause the door to lift very quickly, possibly causing some issues. Hope this helps some others.

Robust and Reliable Lift Support for Heavy-Duty Applications
I recently purchased these 20" 100 LB Gas Prop Struts for a swing out door in a shed, and they have been a total game changer. Installation was a breeze thanks to the included mounting brackets. They provide powerful and smooth lift support, making opening the door much easier and safer. The struts feel sturdy and are perfectly calibrated for the weight range specified, handling my approximately 80lb door without any sign of strain. If you're in the market for reliable gas springs for any heavy-duty application, these are certainly worth considering. Highly recommended for their quality and performance.

Reliable!
Make sure that you don't overkill and use this on a correct application.I ordered the 100lb ones and they are really strong. the bracket actually started to bend because the struts are holding the weight so well.I used this to lift my queen size bed up inside my old motorhome. I'm impressed on the outcome as this are not playing around.make sure, you install the bracket properly because these struts will kick out the bracket if not installed properly.
