Solid with good gain
I have it inside my attic about 25' off ground level. I am able to hit a repeater just unde 60 miles away with a 50 watt transmitter and coming through cleanly accrding to signal reports. Was easy to assemble but the threads seemed kind of tight. I didnt use a tool for fear of stripping them.

They are made okay for the price.
I’ve looked at several just like this one.The price is cheap because it is made cheap.I’m sure the more pricy cousin's that look like they fell off the same production line are the same. Exactly except the branding. I read the good and the bad on all of them and figures okay I’m going to save some cash and play the odds on this one. Just like some of the other look alike stuff in the antenna world I have discovered. In fact regardless of branding. If they look the same it’s because they likely are. I have also noted that price truly has no play in quality like you may expect. I have brought two identical looking antenna and one from my name brand and one from a spinoff brand. And remarkably the cheaper $8 antenna out perform a $21 antenna several times in fact. If you look at the reviews from the more pricey one to the cheaper one, with this one. You will notice that people are complaining about the same thing for each one of them. They are the same. I’m a machinist of over 45 years. And yes, the threads all over these things are crap. Particularly in the pot metal, or whatever it is. The brass seems okay. I was able to install it on a 50 foot piece of coax the 400 style and expected it to perform surely well. At 20ft. Off the ground. This antenna is supposed to be a dual band capability and reportedly by some people works very well in the GMRS range. So I turned the radio to 433.000 and pulled the trigger for the SWR meter. It looked pretty good at 1.6. Power out 38 watts. So I drove 12 miles out in town and was able to make contact with a 20 W handheld standing outside the truck. I figured that was pretty good considering that I only had the antenna mounted 20 feet in the air. My plan was to go 30 feet up when I finish the install. I was excited until I got home and noticed that I had turned the radio to 433.000 which is in the amateur top end of the scale, but not true Gmrs frequency. So I started at the top of the GRS frequencies and worked my way down with the meter. Oh gosh! Horrible members hide to mid 3’s. That sucked. So I went back and started reading more of the reviews and I caught a couple of guys mention that this antenna worked way better in GMRS without the stainless steel porcupine needles sticking out of the side. Now that was in the back of my head but in disbelief of such a large jump in the numbers. So I ordered a replacement which they sent right away. I hooked it up without the stainless steel porcupine needles. And I ran the numbers all the way down the spectrum of GRRS frequencies. Nearly perfect numbers all the way down I saw up to 46 W at the tip on one frequency. That’s even better than the amp. So now I have two of them I will be returning one of them and they can keep the porcupine needles. The long and short of it is this if you’re gonna use this for GMRS do not screw those stainless steel rods into those holes and expect it to work for you. I also took those rods out of the original antenna just to make sure that was the problem with that one. The numbers were a little bit higher, but they were in range so that fix that one as well. If only they had included this information in some sort of an instruction manual which does not come with this antenna. Either of them. So tomorrow I’m going to go ahead and run this new one without the spikes up to 30 feet and give it a run for the money. I expect it will perform famously. If it does, I will be giving this a better rating on a subsequent addition to this review. Fingers crossed. No 73 yet.My closest repeater is over 30 miles. If this rig works as planed. I’m thinking a repeater is going up next. If it’s worth doing it’s worth over doing is my motto.

not for CB??? LOL
CB frequencies are in the 11 meter range, of course a 2 meter antenna isnt going to be a good one for 11 meters...

Does not work with CB
Purchased to help with CB radio reception. Did absolutely nothing.

Extremely Good GMRS Repeater antenna.
This is a great antenna for GMRS base and it works outstanding on GMRS repeaters. Great SWR. The only complaint; I had it mounted for three days no wind and both brackets broke. The Bolt that secures the antenna to the mount also broke; Thankfully, my cable kept it from totally collapsing. I only have it mounted at 20 foot. If you plan on using this antenna on a mast, DO NOT use the “included brackets”. They are made from very cheap aluminum.
