I wanted to upgrade my cheap brandy snifters and after much research settled on these glasses. And, wow, what a difference! So much more fruit aroma instead of mainly ethanol.I've also tried these glasses with Tennessee whisky and scotch and like them better than the glencairn glasses—I feel like the mouth on the glencairns is a little small so you can either drink your beverage or nose it, but not both. Since the Muldale mouth is a little bigger you do get both, and smell is such an important part of taste that this makes a lot of sense to me. The shape is generally similar as glencairn so you get the same advantages of the tapered neck with regards to aroma and removal of alcohol vapors.Yes, they are light. Though I'm not sure how you'd weight them like a glencairn or a rocks glass because of the stem, but the stem allows you to put your hand under the bowl to warm the drink, just like a brandy snifter. As for the thin glass, they're no thinner than Riedel so I have no complaint there.

I use them as nice alternatives to glen cairn glasses for whisky drinking. But also perfect for liqueurs, rum, sherry. They are easy to get inside with your fingers to clean. You could probably fit in an ice cube or 2 also. Good price.
