THE LOST CONTINENT OF MU: THE CRADLE OF CIVILIZATION : With a detailed introduction to its discovery

I wholeheartedly recommend this book and also his follow up book
This is a new edition of Churchward's classic. I remember reading this book about 50 years ago. A fascinating read. In the almost 100 years since it was written, science has marched on, and "disproved" some of his hypothesis, but other parts have been proven true, such as magnetic pole shifts. Since I have studied geology and paleoclimatology all of my life, and have seen how the "proven science" has changed over the years, it makes me wonder if Churchward really does have most of his facts straight. Absence of proof does not disprove.I wholeheartedly recommend this book and also his follow up book, "The Children of MU". Read with an open mind: "proven" science is always changing.

A Must Read!
This book is full mof much good information. Very believable! No doubt it did exist. despite what quackademia says. We have not been told the truth about such things and those that do are ridiculed or run out on a rail. Artifacts from this island are in custody and in private hands. such as those from Atlantis and other sunken civilizations. Their technology was incredible far advanced for their time. Ours is like a crank telephone in comparison.

Let's rewrite, reframe, & evolve into the humans we are meant to be.
Absolutely, fascinating. Even if you don't believe this continent existed you will believe the scientific discoveries and evidence given in this book. I truly believe it's time to start rewriting the history of our planet. It dates back much further than is taught today. This book should be a required textbook in the evolution of humankind!

The Moon Landing Was a Hoax!
Fifty years ago, The Lost Continent of Mu cost me a girlfriend. A week after she gave me the book to read she asked me what I thought. I said to the effect, "You don't really believe all this BS do you?" She did...Churchyard's tome was written at a time when improvements in oceanography, in particular understanding of seafloor spreading and Plate Tectonics, were yet to have been made. Gordon Stein in Encyclopedia of Hoaxes (1993) has noted that Churchward's claims have no scientific basis. According to Stein "it is difficult to assess whether Churchward really believed what he said about Mu, or whether he was knowingly writing fiction."Beyond that, a boring read.

Somewhat Interesting
Churchward was blantantly a racist, which, I suppoze, was considered OK a century ago. He consistently insists that all the south sea islands in the Pacific were originally peopled by a superior race of whites who were eventually replaced by darker-skinned "savages." Some of the book I did enjoy, though he spends too much time on the deciphering of the Mu hieroglyphics.

I'm struggling to finish this book, primarily because Churchward's scientific methods for proving the existence of Mu are on par with "...because I said so." and "...because it does." This may have been enough for the 1920s readers, but I need more than that. I'm convinced Mu existed but it wasn't by this book!

Fun Read, makes you think
What a fun read. It really makes me wonder why we don't encourage children to question history and become explorers themselves. There are so many possibilities out there and this man was sure he was providing us with solid information. He certainly ties it together nicely.

Valuable stones come in small packages.. If you are interested in the hidden history as well the masonically buried/preserved esoteric wisdoms then this book is for you. Written by a high degree Mason himself this book includes lessons and written history that Master Masons receive at the advanced degrees in their orders. William Niven, another high degree Mason found 2600+ plus tablets at Mexico pertaining to Mu. This is the history that potentially changes not only the politics of the planet but also the commonly held dogmatic interpreations of the Bible

Still Lost
I'd considered reading this book for many years but it took writing my own novels to encourage me to finally buy it. It's an interesting look at the possibility of an ancient continent in the middle of the Pacific Ocean from which all modern civilisations sprang. The science is accurate for the time, and Churchward is definitely of the religious ilk, and although it is dated, this is a well researched source book if you're interested in the topic. If there is a weakness in the geology, it is probably because he was unaware of plate tectonics and had the idea that there used to be huge pockets of gas buoying up the land masses, until the one under Mu exploded. His theories are plausible based on the knowledge he had, and it is written in an entertaining fashion.

MU or Lemuria
An intriguing book concerning the history of MU, including much absorbing and interesting facts supporting this continent that disappeared before Atlantis. Also gives the connecting information for links to other countries to compare with the culture of MU from the time of ancient history. Well worth getting.
