It's very different to the type I would normally go for, but I'm so glad I did.Written in first person dialogue it tells us the turmoil Jenna has found herself in since receiving her donor heart. With inexplicable feelings and flashbacks into the world of Callie, she is lost in a world of fear and confusion. And as she deciphers the messages through dreams and intuition she is thrust into a world of danger.The storyline is intriguing and maintains the suspense throughout, building to a finale that thankfully, ties up all the loose ends for the reader.A smidgen of fact. A visit to the "other side". Romance and emotions along with a great big dollop of suspense. This book has it all. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will add Louise Jensen to my list of favorite authors . ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Most enjoyable *by P***H on Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2018* Despite having read stories with a similar theme I thoroughly enjoyed this book about a heart transplant recipient (Jenna) who starts having visions and feelings associated with her organ donor (Callie). This paragraph sums up the feelings of Jenna as she waits with hope for a miracle.“Time was interminable: doctors consulted, nurses fuss and notes were made until one day a miracle happened. “We’ve found a heart” Dr Kapur announced.”Strange flashbacks propel Jenna into finding out more about the donor and how she died. This sets Jenna off on a mission to discover what Callie is trying to tell her, despite the obvious dangers she now exposes herself to.“A heart is not just an organ. The heart stores secrets and lies. Hopes and dreams. It’s more than a muscle. I know it is. The heart remembers.”Cellular memory is discussed as a theory including documented instances where the recipient has changed their eating habits, likes and even spoke the native language of the donor that neither doctors nor scientists were able to explain. This made the book thought-provoking."It is proven that memory itself is distributed throughout the neural system and the heart’s nervous system contains around 40 000 neurons that communicate with the brain. If you transplant a heart, you are transplanting these neurons.”This novel is a gripping psychological thriller that steadily builds up the tension throughout.“We all have our reasons for doing the things we do, don’t we? The lies we tell. Too many coincidences, like all these characters somehow all involved with one another,AND the recipient of the heart and her BFs family. This must be a VERY small town! The English jargon was annoying after awhile. How do you " call in " to a store or someone's house? You mean STOP IN. And a living room , even in a tiny apartment ( excuse me - FLAT), is called a LOUNGE????
