I bought these walkies mostly because they are cheep, my friends and I do a lot of kayak fishing in salt water, so I knew the conditions would be brutal and I didnt want to invest to much on something that most likely wasn't going to last anyway, to my surprise these radio's held up pretty good considering the harsh conditions, after 1 month one of the radio's did stop operating properly and like a couple other reviews it was the yellow one, the problem being that it wouldn't turn off or respond to commands. these radio's worked perfectly for our use, we were usually within a half mile of each other and the reception was perfect and this eliminates the need to use your cell phone. As far as the set up I had to have my girl friend handle that I found that to be a little annoying, the customer service , excellent, I had my replacement radio's in less than 24 hours ready for another day on the bay, over all I give a thumbs up, they are fun to use and make it easy to keep in touch with your fishing buddies out in the water.

I spent so much more money In trying to get a good Walkie Talkies for the daycare. This product was rated #5or 6. The #1 was the Motorola and I got those. In 2 weeks I was happy to send it back. Very complicated, the battery have to be charged every other day and two had a malfunction. It had been 1 week since I got these devices and the batteries are still fully charged. It is so perfect for a daycare, school or church. I rate it a #1. I am satisfied with this device.

Spent a few months away from the trailer and they were still charged up and ready to go. Clear audio and easy to use if you read the instructions lol. Decent purchase for the price.

These are moderately powered radios. Dont get me wrong, they work great at short distances but for longer distances, a more powerful 1+ watt FRS radio might work better. Also please do not believe in some of the answers most of the sellers have put up on the Q&A page about the power rating. Most are downright incorrect.These radios are NOT rated at 1W nor are they rated at .5W. They are rated at just under 0.1 Watts. I got these ratings and test results directly from the FCC website: FCC ID - 2ACVFK-10B. Google it up.Channels 1-7/15-22:462.5625 - 462.7125 MHz rated at 0.0918 watts462.55 - 462.725 MHz rated at 0.0986 wattsChannels 8-14:467.5625 - 467.7125 rated at 0.0527 wattsWe went to the Sierra at Tahoe ski resort in California with the kids and these radios work great around the base area. We then took Grandview Express and could hear the kids when they reached the top, from base. There was some static but it was audible.We had several folks around the mountain at different times and we could hear each other mostly if we were within a mile of each other. We were also able to test these radios on the Sugar and Spice run from the base lodge. But the signal did get lost when we went more than a mile apart. Note: Radios dont work well from the backside of the mountain for obvious reasons. Even 2 Watt radios seem to struggle.For the price its a great buy, but if you're looking for something more powerful I'd suggest the Topsung K-12 rated at 400 mW, or the even more powerful M-9 which is actually rated at 1.1 watt.

It's not 2w as indicated. - it’s 1w.Frequencies between 462 & 467. Not compatible with others like Uniden on 476-477.Cheap build, many flaws, hard to get replacements - batteries etc.Worth spending time reading independent reviews.
