Edited: Changed to 5 star. Seller contacted me and offered to send the extra nibs. Probably won't get them before Christmas, but nice to know AIVN is customer focused and willing to help problems. I will update after my wife uses, as this is part of her Christmas present. Overall, I like the set and would recommend others purchase, especially as a gift as it looks beautiful; but it only came with 6 nibs. Not the 17 that the product title said. PROS:It looks great, and the quill and holder are a fantastic desk item even if she doesn't use for calligraphy. The box is solid, and even would have room to hold more nibs and ink if she wanted more. I can't overstate how pretty the quill looks. It has some weight to it. The feathers don't appear to be real, but that just means they don't separate and get as dingy looking as real ones can. It has a nice weight to it, and holding it is fairly nice, as there are plenty of grooves on the base. CONS: I only received the set with 6 nibs. Five in the box, and one on the pen. The product title said 17 nibs. I'm not sure what the difference is. The nibs are slightly hard to pull out of pen, and could make a mess if you don't have a set of pliers/ tweezers handy when they have ink on them. They also appear to be flimsy, and could bend if too much pressure is placed on them.

I LOVE ❤️ this set!! There are so many nibs to use, all different and I have t figured out the difference in writing style. It seems that some hold more ink than others . This kit is beautifully boxed - perfect for gift giving . I purchased as a gift for my daughter but I love it so much I’m stealing it back!! Several of the nibs hold a ton of ink- enough to write several sentences. The other ones I’ve used I had to dip in ink so often it wasn’t practical to use as a regular pen. This set I’m going to use for everything I can, writing checks, notes and especially for writing in my journal. It’s a joy to write with this pen. The only think I would like to be different would be to have the pen handle a bit heavier. It is an easy to hold smooth lightweight wood. I have found my new gift for friends! If you are a writer like me you will not be disappointed in this product!!

Nice looking, well packaged set. I can't comment on the quality of the nibs and such as I am just starting out and have no reference. I removed one star because of the "bronze" leaf that holds the feather in place on the pen. While it looks nice, it can get in the way when trying to hold the pen properly if you have large hands like myself.

My calligraphy pen arrived today. I opened the box and first thing I noticed was everything packed nice and neat. For the cost, I actually though the pen was going to be a cheapy, but to my surprise it is a solid, weighty pen. I also thought the pen was going to be uncomfortable to use due to the feather, but (again) to my surprise, the pen fits right in my hand and feels great when writing. The pen stand is super nice and holds the pen well. The ink is great also and the pen holds a lot of ink. I am able to write alot after only one dip. The pen is very nice looking and the selection of included nibs is great. Including ink is a genius idea. The box is very sophisticated-looking, a plus when trying to impress a teenager. My grand daughter has just gotten into calligraphy and has been using felt-tipped markers. She absolutely flipped when she saw the pen, ink, and nibs in such a pretty box. She immediately disappeared into the den with her pen and we didn't hear a peep out of her all night. She is bragging to her friends that she has the real deal pen. Yay! Pleasing a 14-year-old is no mean feat. Thank you!

This calligraphy dip pen set is soo awesome! Not only is it beautifully packaged but the quality is good perfect for beginners such as myself. I found it extremely easy to use there are so many different tips for different styles of writing the ink is good quality smooth and doesn't bleed. The tips hold the ink minimizing the amount of dipping your doing! Overall a perfect gift for someone or just for beginners getting into dip pen calligraphy!!

My daughter wanted to learn how to do calligraphy and her art teacher suggested I get a begginer set. This was a perfect set for my daughter. I wish I had a picture showing my daughter using it, but she took it to school. But she loves it and was so excited to get it. Her teacher said it was a perfect set for beginners and Britt said it was easy to learn.

The set looks good and the grip on the pen feels good. Being a beginner without paper or electric instructions I have to google or try it until it works. I like to get the paper instruction which explain the different writing of the nibs, how to insert the different nib, does nib need burning before using, proper way to dip the calligraphy pen. It would nice the ink bottle opening is larger. I dip the pen into ink bottle and ink is on the pen and finger when I write. It’s messy. Maybe the instructions I get shows me a better way to dip the ink.
