A Real Game Changer for Me.........
In 2003 I had my first stroke at the age of 51 after living a healthy lifestyle(or so I thought). I've been in extreme pain due from the aftermath of the stroke and from several really bad falls. I had resigned myself to the life of a recluse and not participating much in anything. Then three months ago my husband whose always trying to find something to help make my life a little better. When he came across Dr. Colberts books, "The Keto Diet" and "Let Your Food Be Your Medicine". It took him a month to convince me to try it because the skeptic inside me decided that there was no way this was going to work......Boy was I ever wrong, I have just completed my seventh week of living and eating my way to good health. After going through both books, "The Keto Diet & Let Your Food Be Your Medicine"....We focus on the things Dr. Colbert suggested for me to do to relieve me of my pain. So I went on a very strict version taken from the two books. The first few days were difficult but it was only mind over matter plain and simple. After week one I noticed that my pain was reduced dramatically. I have stuck to the regimen to the letter just as Dr. Colbert described. I am now at the end of week seven and I feel like an absolute new man. I've went from someone who was living each day waiting for my life to end with no promise before me. I can honestly say this has completely and totally changed my life. I'm living with far less pain I've went from a pain level of 7-8 to a pain level of 2-3 and getting better with each new day. I'm now up before 6 am and doing things in the house that I haven't done in years. In closing I want to say you truly are what you eat or don't eat...this has been totally worth it just for the fact that I haven't taken any pain medication since I started this life changing event, and as an added bonus to all of this I've lost 35 lbs. I'm truly not the same man. I not going to call this a diet but instead I'm calling it a "Life Improvement Eating Plan". My life has never been better and I'm eating lots of healthy food and taking less medications and all with my family doctors approval. Thank you Dr. Colbert for giving me a guide to a better and much improved life.

Medical problem? Here is your solution
My new favorite nutrition book! Dr. Colbert is not only passionate about helping people, he's really good at presenting information in a conversational way that's easy for laypeople to understand. The book's scientific explanations and studies are humanized with personal stories about his patients and their results.The fascinating revelation of this book is that lifestyle and diet changes are nothing short of "miracle cures" that have been right in front of our faces all along, yet few are willing to sacrifice their favorite comforts unless their lives are in immediate danger (and sometimes not even then). Dr. Colbert is also a great motivator, not with a threatening finger-in-your-face, but a "you can do this" encouragement that is contagious!Another great book. Keep 'em coming, Dr. Colbert!

Love Dr. Colbert
Love Dr. Colbert! I have quite a few of his books and I plan on adding to my collection until I've got all of them! This book is great, very well written, easy read, and a plethora of invaluable information on how to eat to stay healthy! I am a healthy eater to begin with, but this book has given me a fresh motivation to consider every bite of food I put in my mouth...will it fuel me or weigh me down? I eat to LIVE, not live to eat. I will be buying more copies to give out to friends and family, this information needs to be shared!

It’s an OK book
About 2/3 of the book is about how great the author thinks he is. The useable information could’ve been reduced down to one chapter. All said, there are some good points made

A Must Read
What an eye opener this book turned out to be. Excellent information, presented in easy to understand language, with explanations which help grasp the whole concept of how food affects the body. There are sections devoted to different situations like cancer, arthritis, even dementia. Dr. Colbert includes a 21-Day meal plan, as well as lots of information on the way our food is now treated for mass production. This is a book I refer to daily and has changed my whole way of eating.

Dr Colbert had an issue.
Dr. Colbert had a terrible issue with his hands, and would wear gloves to hide them from his patients. After spending thousands researching he discovered that his love of hot peppers was causing the issue. Likewise there are many other maladies related to what we eat. Great source of information on healthy living, as "You are what you eat".

Was lange währt, kann auch endlich wahr werden!
Ich kann gar nicht sagen, wie happy ich bin, endlich genau dieses Buch von Don Colbert gefunden zu haben! Hatte vor über einem Jahr schon zwei andere bestellt, eins davon sollte eigentlich dieses Buch sein, wurde aber bei der Bestellung anders aufgenommen und es kam das Buch der Mediterranian Diet. Habe es trotzdem behalten, aber trotz 1 Jahr erfolgreicher Keto-Diät hab das Buch nicht aufgegeben und jetzt endlich gefunden. Ist leider nur in Englisch erhältlich, aber empfehlenswert, wenn man neben/mit der Gewichtsabnahme auch Gesundheit und Heilung sucht.

Worth buying
Arrived on time and my wife is absorbing the book and it will help to make some changes to what is an already healthy diet to improve that even further. Worth getting.

Very interesting
Mm (excuse the pun) food for thought....wish I'd know this when my husband had cancer.Interesting - the connection between sugar and cancer and disease being caused by a traumatic event. A good read for those in pain.
