Easy install
It was an easy install, and if you read other reviews, some people complained about the O-ring that actually holds the tack inside the housing. It was too big and too tight. I just took it off and replaced it with a rubber band and it fits nice and snug but not so tight that it’s gonna break anything. I did not wire in the back light, I did test it, and it is extremely bright, too bright that you don’t want it Shining in your face at night, without having some sort of dimming going on. That’s why I only gave it four stars. It runs through the rpm range smoothly.

It is really bright, but good for the price.
I wish there was a way to dim the light. It works well and is easy to install. Good apart from the blinding lights.

Works well.
This is a great tach for being budget friendly. The instructions aren't quite clear on how to set the amount of cylinders. Press and hold the set button then tap until the needle is on the correct cylinder count. Wiring was simple with the use of a coil.

It's only $15
AutoMeter makes its gauges in downtown Sycamore, Illinois U.S.A. wishing I would have spent $60 more for the 2-3/4" PEDESTAL TACHOMETER, 0-6,000 RPM #2306.It's not necessarily cheap construction- just the most inexpensive gauge they could possibly make...It's only $15!A basic 12V wiring skill level is required, but do see how a novice could misunderstand instructions.Bright blue LED is way too much at night placing a small piece of window tint film over the lens.Press and hold the set button, single tap until the needle points to the correct cylinder count, i.e., 6,7,8.I am pleased about the price, and everything works as suggested; However, I now recommend purchasing a much higher quality level.

Stuff
You get what you pay for. Not the best quality, wires so small hard to work with.
