Miscellaneous Storage 3-Shelf Bookcase/ Book shelf, Salt Oak finish

This Sauder bookshelf was easy to assemble. Super sturdy and very nice. Washington cherry is a great color, not really cherry red and not exactly brown. There were No missing parts, no scratches, it was perfect. The back part behind the books is very attractive, looks like real wood boards. I recommend this and trust the Sauder brand.

I’m extremely happy that I bought this bookshelf. I’m a senior person, I assembled it myself without problems. The finish is really nice and it has a very sturdy look and feel, not cheap at all. I would buy it again and I do recommend it. God bless!

Size is perfect!!! Craftsmanship is above and beyond!!! This Company is putting out Top Quality products!!! Seriously!!! It is so study and Beautiful!!! I can’t say enough about their products!!! The one thing that they could improve on is the back needs a long board at bottom all the way across for better stability! After putting together I noticed it is heavier in front so it leans weird! There isn’t any support at bottom on back!

It's a good, solid little bookcase, just what I needed for my large photo albums. It was easy to put together and looks nice with everything in/on it. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because it is not solid wood, but particle board. But it is heavy-duty board, not the cheap flimsy stuff.

We have purchased several of this bookcase in Black in this size and larger and the quality is beyond excellent. They are easy to assemble, have great storage capacity and even though they are made well are not too heavy to move easily. Also, the color is as rich and vibrant and the day we bought them, no fading whatsoever. I highly recommend them for the quality and value.

We purchased five of these bookcases from Amazon, two tall bookcases and three shorter bookcases, all in oiled oak finished. all arrived in perfect condition without any damage in shipping. The cartons were well packaged and complete with no missing parts or pieces. The core material of these bookcases is particle board with an attractive faux wood grain plastic material. One must be aware that there is no natural wood used in these bookcases and particle board is easily damaged and impossible to repair. Therefore, the boxes must be opened, the component parts removed and assembled with care. The assembly instructions are clear, concise and well illustrated. Assembly was straightforward and trouble free. The finished product is sturdy and attractive. One must be aware that the faux wood grain is a plastic material and if damaged cannot be restored. One must also be aware that the joinery is metal cams and metal pegs similar to IKEA products and must be moved with care. The assembled bookcases are heavy and awkward. They will not withstand abuse in moving and if the particle board-cam/peg joinery is damaged is cannot be repaired. If handled gently and carefully they make an attractive presentation and are a reasonable value.

Very heavy duty and great bookcase!!

Looks good. There were no damaged or missing pieces. All pieces were clearly marked and the instructions were very good. The parts fit the pre-drilled holes -- I had no problems assembling this piece. The bookcase is stable on my floor. I am happy with this purchase. I have bought products from this manufacturer before and I haven't been sorry. Regarding purchases of particle board furniture: I felt this was a good purchase for my home office. I read a lot of reviews before deciding on what to buy and I think some people don't understand this material. Particle board is both heavier and WEAKER than solid wood. That is why it is so much less expensive than a solid wood bookshelf which could easily cost 3 times as much. This means the shelves will sag if you put too much weight on them, or if the weight is not EVENLY distributed across the width of the board. The manual for this bookcase indicates the following max weights top of bookcase 35 lbs adjustable shelves 25 lbs each bottom shelf 40 lbs You cannot load the shelf up with heavy stuff (including books) if you don't want the shelves to sag. Placing heavy books in the center of a 25-pound shelf will absolutely cause it to sag over time even if the books weigh less than 25 pounds because the weight is all in one place. If this is a problem, you should look for solid wood or something with metal supports under the shelves. There are youtube videos showing how some people have added solid wood framing around the particle board bookcases to strengthen them. (Not just sauder, but ikea and other manufacturer shelving -- they all have the same issues.) Personally at that point I would just pay the extra money for more expensive solid wood shelves but that's just me. Particle board does crack easily and can be damaged in shipping if the package gets dropped. The Sauder website has a link to reorder individual parts if something is missing/broken. I've been lucky and have not had to use the service. It's just a chance you take when you purchase this type of product.

I received it as described and it was delivered on time. No scratch, no damage. It was easy to assemble. With that, I 'd say I am satisfied and very happy with my purchase because it came exactly what I wanted.

This is good quality product and would recommend it except that the Puralator delivery was a nightmare. It is a long story but the short version....got no notice as to when it would be delivered. I just happened to be there and the driver just dropped it on the porch and didn't want a signature and won't help me lift it 6 inches over the sill to get it into the house unless I wanted to ask nice. I struggled by myself and had bruises on my arms and scrapes on my hands....never again will I order anything big off of Amazon
