Wow,, 5 lbs. is a bunch of pineapple,, tasty snacks and good fo cooking or sauces ?!

You just won’t find almost 6lbs of dried pineapple chunks, for a better price. Sweet and tasty. Chewy, and fresh tasting. They’re not too hard and not too soft. Just bought more. (I need to take as much enzymes as I can stomach for medical reasons. These are perfect)

We had tried dried pineapple before (rings), and while tastey, was rock-hard and inedible where the core had been. Looking for an alternative, I came across We Got Nuts' product and tried it -- sooo glad I did! You get a huge amount for the price, and the pineapple is cut into chunks, avoiding the core all together. Each chunk is tender, flavorful, and delicious. This dried fruit makes a wonderful, nutritious snack. I love it, and so does my husband. I shared some with our neighbors who both loved it too -- I can't imagine anyone not enjoying this yummy treat!

Over treated with sulfur dioxide (and sugar but that is next). - The first piece out of the bag I knew I was tossing the entire bag. The batch was clearly overtreated with sulfur dioxide. One would know this by the mild but distinct unpleasant taste and bitter aftertaste. No pineapple flavor make it past that. "Bland" was all one would taste past the sulfur dioxide. I ate a few more pieces, hoping.... a few of the pieces of the 4-5 I ate were sweet, but no pineapple flavor to speak of, and all had some degree of unpleasant aftertaste.Hours later it occurred to me "Soak them..... I have nothing to loose. They are inedible as is."The magic recipe: Soak 3-4 cups in at least a gallon of water for 5-6 hours, stirring a bit every hour/hour and a half to expose all surfaces to the water. Then re-dehydrate. The taste, just after the soaking, was night and day. Pineapple flavor only and pleasant.Over treaded with sugar: After the soak and rehydration, I had approximately half (50%) of the volume I started with. ie half the bag is sugar and sulfur dioxide.But the end product is really, really good, even if now incredibly expensive.

1st time buying these. Good flavor. I prefer smaller chucks, but it's a good quality.

Good tasting but lots of sugar in them. Label is misleading. They taste like sweet pineapple candy. Dry pineapple sold in Costco has no sugar at all and it’s a bit tarter/sour.
