Should it have come with a mat and/or instructions?

No, mat sold separately. I used a pillow instead. It's fairly straightforward slide the strap under the door so the round knob is on the otherside of the door to catch. You can adjust the strap for lower limb length. Personally I think it's safer to have it set up so that you are pulling the door into the frame instead of out, I don't trust the lock to hold my weight(200+ LBs) if you are referring to an actual exercise instructions pertaining to form, there are tutorials on youtube, not necessarily with this device but a similar set up.

Is there a way to secure to a horizontal bar? Door to my home gym is a step up and the low bar on my Squat rack is about 4” from the bottom.

I think you could MacGyver something behind your horizontal bar so the door anchor at the end of the strap wouldn’t slip under. Big dumbbells? Heavy plates? Just an idea. Worth a try. It’s a simple product.

What is the difference between the Nordstick and the Nordstick Pro - besides the price (jejejeje)?

I think it has fancier padding. The one I have is normal squishy foam.

Some of the photos show this product being used without a door or any bulky weight attached. How is this possible?

This item is designed to be used with a door. Some creative customers have found other ways to use it without a door. In our images the door was photo shopped out to best show the Nordstick! All were taken using a door!

I purchased this product thinking I would receive the norstick, however it is a different low budget alternative. The anchor piece is made of foam and not rubber.

I am 85kg and use lots of firm padding under my shins and knees whilst performing nordics with this strap. After barely 10 months of use 1-2x per week, the plastic door anchor has literally snapped mid-rep, sending me catapulting into the ground, winding me. The strap has also flown into the back of my head and left a nice bruise. I highly recommend seeking a safer alternative than this strap. It is not up to the task and is clearly dangerous. Very disappointed that a seemingly reputable company would use such a cheap plastic anchor, it needs to be made of metal. NOT SAFE, DO NOT BUY.
