Love or hate will depend on what you need it for
Let me start by saying I love my DJI Action 2 Dual-Screen Combo. Before diving into the purchase, I did my homework to ensure it suited my needs, and I'm glad I did. While the design has its flaws, like not being super rugged and the second screen not being waterproof, understanding these limitations and using the correct parts has made all the difference. One issue I've noticed is heating, but since I stick to shooting at 4K 30 frames per second or lower, it hasn't been a problem for me. Most of my filming happens underwater, and for that, the waterproof case has been a must. When diving, I make sure to use the waterproof case, but for snorkeling, I opt for just the camera part without the second screen or waterproof case to keep things streamlined. The microphone quality is top-notch, and the size factor is unbeatable. However, there's a crucial tip I've learned for underwater use without the waterproof case. Before connecting it to the second screen/battery to transfer files to the SD card, ensure you remove the case from the magnetic protective casing and dry the area around the pins thoroughly. Otherwise, any water trapped between the magnetic case and the camera could lead to corrosion when attached to the second part of the camera. Despite these considerations, I'm overall very happy with my DJI Action 2 Dual-Screen Combo. It's compact, versatile, and has significantly improved my underwater videography experience. With a bit of caution and proper maintenance, it's a fantastic tool.

Compact, Versatile, and Packed with Features — But Handle With Care!
The DJI Action 2 Dual-Screen Combo is a powerhouse of an action camera, especially if you’re after high-quality footage in a tiny package. The 4K video recording is crisp and vibrant, and the 155° wide-angle lens captures more of the scene, making it ideal for action-packed adventures and vlogging. The dual OLED touchscreens are a fantastic feature — bright, responsive, and perfect for framing your shots or switching settings on the go, whether you’re behind or in front of the camera. The magnetic attachments are clever and make mounting the camera a breeze — no more fiddling with complicated mounts while missing the moment. The stabilization technology works brilliantly too, smoothing out the bumps and shakes even if you’re filming while cycling or running. However, without the magnetic protective case, the camera feels a bit vulnerable, especially in rough conditions or when shooting underwater. The build is sturdy, but if you’re planning to take it on rugged adventures or underwater (it’s waterproof up to 10m), you might want to invest in the case for extra peace of mind.Overall, the DJI Action 2 is an excellent choice for anyone wanting a compact, feature-rich action camera. Just be ready to baby it a bit without that added protective layer — it’s small but mighty, and worth keeping in top condition!

Great for what it is, no over heating issues
This is a brilliant form factor device, very discreet and lightweight. The magnetic attachment system is so much of a time saver and being able to attach it to anything magnetic is a big bonus. The necklace is a nice addition too (included). The image quality is great, however you're going to have issues with image quality if you use manual settings on a low framrate and RockSteady if you're moving as it will introduce jittering in the image. This is a let down as you'll need to have it on full auto to get the best results, which isn't great if you want exposure control. That said, this issue isn't unique to DJi and is due to technical limitations of software image stabilization.Sound quality is average as you'd expect from a device of this size, though spoken word and ambiances are clear and acceptable. The device does get hot, but I've not had any shut downs because it. You really cannot expect a device like this not to get hot so don't worry about the overheating issues if you're not in hot climates. You can use 1080 if you don't want the device to get as hot.Battery life is good enough and with the battery module you'll get plenty of record time.Steady Mode offers a good level of stabilization.RockSteady mode is superb and offers excellent stabilization, it almost negates the need for a gimbal. I'm very impressed with this feature.Horizon Stead. Very useful for keeping the horizon steady!Horizon Balancing. Very useful for keeping the image locked regardless of which way round the camera is.Charge time is quick with USB C.Lovely screen quality, very bright and vivid with an easy to use navigation system. All modes and options are quick to access. The device is worth buying in my opinion.
